Not sure why people are fussing that the lady is over 70.
Yes the fish and chips take a while to cook however they are fresh.
I have been approximately 7 times on my visits and every time my family and I have enjoyed the fish and chips.
The lady is not miserable likes some of these reviews.
The fish is nicely battered and the chips are cooked well.
Its a fish and chip shop not a five star restaurant so dont expect a song and dance when you visit as some of these low star reviews expect.YES expect a wait time but be patient.

This is a lovely little chippy in a beautiful location. I only called in for a portion of chips. I did have to wait for the chips & yes the service was slow. But the old people who own or work here are a total credit. They could be enjoying retirement but still chose to work and serve the locals and tourist. So just remember this if you call in. We'll done to these lovely people and yes chips were lovely

Probably THE best chippy I've ever had, I recall a few years ago I got a cod and chips from here. Took awhile to make but that was for a good reason, it was cripsy the fish was soft and a pleasure to eat with the batter, even the chips were cripsy!! This is the original chippy you'll get and plus it's next to Llanfair Pwllgwyngyll train station!

Best fish n chips I've had for a long time. And best of all you can eat inside with a cuppa tea and bread and butter 🧈 😋

The reason for the slow service at this fine establishment is that both shop staff are senior citizens. Youngest was in her 70's and had a heavily bandaged leg, the eldest well into her 80's. (see picture) The fish and chips tasted ok with no personal health repercussions but shop cleanliness was an issue I consciously turned a blind eye too. The whole affair was actually quite funny because irrespective of the queue, the staff only had one speed. Very very slow and steady. It's important to respect your elders and betters, so nobody in the queue said anything about the delay and everyone was very polite and waited patiently. I wasn't the only one to see the funny side and several of us exchanged knowing chuckles. It was like being in a time warp! On the wall, (not in the picture) there was a quality award from 1998 and one from before that time, so faded that I couldn't read the print. Hilarious. I hope that both of these senior citizens enjoy what they do and continue to do so. I also hope that, should I be fortunate enough to get to that age, I have discovered a way of life that is more rewarding than fry fish!
