Chips were lovely. Really friendly staff and the shop is very clean.. Only one reason it lost a star from me is the jumbo sausage is awful..

Must be the cheapest sausage on the market. Its the 2nd time I've had sausage and both been really bad. 15th March 2021

Went back at 12.50pm on July 22nd 2022. Bought 2 cones of chips. At first sight I thought they looked white but ok.
Chips were tough on the outsides and not that warm.
I ate about 8 of them then threw them in the bin..My wife ate a few more of hers then decided enough was enough as they were really bad and threw hers away.
My advice to anyone going into the Cod Father Blackwood is STAY WELL AWAY. Don't waste your money

Good food, well cooked and good portions. All cooked and served by great staff. They must love working there.

Very busy with delivery service so u kinda feel in the way more than customers the young girl who served us worked very hard so did the other girl shame the guys just stood there especially the guy in the other side
When asked to help the very busy chip shop side he refused
Food was fresh and tasty thou
Portions are good size too
So the food wasn't an issue
Just the atmosphere
I would definitely buy again but would probably opt for delivery

Absolute garbage! I had food there today charged me £8.10 for a burger and chips, not even a drink with that. The manager on front was belittling her staff and speaking to them terribly and i felt so sorry for the staff. As for the food the chips were massively under cooked, and the burger was cheap and nasty with a rubber like texture. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!

I have had meals from here via just eat. There was item’s missing ,food was cold and it was 2 hours late. Just eat gave a 4.00 refund but that didn’t even cover missing items.
So this time I went to the shop, bought patty and chips twice. When we tried to eat them the patty’s were cold and rock hard. I will never recommend this place. I used the previous shop Lou’s for many years. This place is nothing like it.

Had us sitting here for over 2 hours waiting for our order to be delivered. Called 3 times in that time, everytime being told it would be 2 mins. Never bloody arrived did it. Ended up asking for a refund. Ruined our evening, raging! 😠

Amazing venue! typical chip shop at front of shop but great stylish cafe/restaurant to the rear, great selection of food from your typical large portion fish and chips to full English breakfast, even some well thought out vegetarian and vegan options would highly recommend a visit if your shopping in town even if its just for a coffee

Had a just eat took two hours for delivery and looked like it had been left standing for some time,The worst meal we have ever had delivered It ,arrived in a foil tray,the chips were undercooked pale and the foil tray was swimming in water the bread was soggy and the square chunks of meat were rock hard,one of the sauces had tipped in the bag over the salad,it cost £25 and went in the bin.
