Minnis Bay Fish and Chips

My host at the Old Coach House recommended Minnis Bay Fish and Chips and said they were the best ones. So I gave it a go. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The place looked clean and tidy. My fish was fresh and tasted heavenly - I was not disappointed! The extra eating-in charge is the only reason I did not give it 5 stars.

Used to be lovely fish and chip takeaway when the previous owners ran it. Since the new people have taken over this year it’s gone so down hill. They charge you for a bag, and if you order any type of fish they charge you for 30p to box it even though it’s not optional and this all used to be free before. Now they have a minimum spend of £5 on card orders where as before there was none. Taste of food is lacking and overly greasy now.

Totally gone down hill and wouldn’t recommend or go there anymore. Sad.

We usually have fish and chips here during our visits to England. This time it was our first meal. We split one large order of fries for five people. Granted, we didn’t want too much fries so it worked out well for us. I ordered the cod which was also massive compared to what I would get in the US. Husband ordered the fish cakes which seemed smaller than what they usually served. Definitely hit the spot.

Nice place to sit and have f&c's, after a day at beach.
Free ketchup and salt.
Toilets to relieve yourself.
Chips ok.
Kids enjoyed it.
Clean enough.
Friendly staff.

I had one of the best fish and chips with mushy peas from here . I was very impressed I will go there everytime I m down that way price was good food was soo nice and service was great too . Top job lads

I have eaten fish and chips many times in different parts of England but I have not seen anything like MINNIS BAY FISH AND CHIPS. Another privilege is that they also make gluten free

Nee to area so thought would try this. Best fish and chips I have had
