Carpetright

I would discourage anyone to use this store, I have just spent a very large amount of money to re carpet my stairs, landing and 6 rooms, we only moved into our new house in November, and have had it all repainted by a painter prior to having the carpets fitted. The fitter from CarpetRight Chelmsford fitted the carpets yesterday and has absolotely butchered my skirtiings, door frames and stair case. I have counted 37 areas of damage, which have all scraped through 3 layers of paint and in some places casused notches out of the wood.

As the fitter was leaving my husband pointed out a large bubble in one of the carpets - the fitter hadn't even noticed. He also pointed out the damage and fitters response was that it was to be expected to have 'some' knocks!!!

I contacted the store to lodge a complaint (which was very hard as no one answers the phones) and the manager Matt told meit was written into the paperwork to expect 'fair wear and tear' and even suggested my painting wasn't of very quality that's why the damage ocurred.

I have got a very small amount of money off the fitting cost due to the poor service (only when I asked, it certainly was not offered) but does that cover the upset and time now needed to rectify all the damage? No it certainly does not.

The response I got from the manager I feel was not appropriate, he was argumentative rather than trying to see my point of view, at no point did he consider that the fitter representing them as a company was not up to standard and that he should quality check his other work. I just hope no more customers get assigned this fitter because if they do, expect to see many more reviews like this.

Absolutely disgusted and heartbroken my beautiful new house is wrecked.

After having amazing service in store with Amanda at Carpet Right Chelmer Village. The fitting at both properties were painful to say the least. Property one had the fitters called back on 3 occasions due to the carpets not being fitted correctly, the fitters not attending with the correct sized door bars, attending with the incorrect carpet and damaging newly painted skirting boards . Property two had the room incorrectly measured by the surveyor ,therefore the fitter placed a join in the door way! The store did agree this was an error and agreed to refit the carpet at property two. To date I have made approximately 18 calls to carpet right to get matters rectified and now I'm just told if I'm not happy to speak to customer service.

Really painful experience. I have ordered a bed frame and mattress on July 1st. I was told that more or less it will take a month or so. Today 27th August 2022, I am still receiving instalments of parts of my bed. The first delivery on 22 July 2022 - I have received a mattress and a bed base with a missing foot and no headboard. I called to chase, spoke to the store manager Mark his words were leave it with me, I will have it sorted. Nothing happened until, the 19th of August where I have received a provisional notice that my order will be delivered on the 24th August. I have booked the day as Annual Leave just to make sure I am there. Delivery people arrived, of course no fittings (screws) and what is more no replacement bed base was brought in. Imagine my frustration and anxiety. Called the store again, unfortunately, store manager was off. Left a message to call me back as a matter of urgency the next day. 26th August at 16.30hours asked to speak to the manager again who is on another line and was asked for my number so he can call back, I replied he was meant to call me first thing when he comes back but he didn't. I have not slept in a proper bed for more than a month now as I have been sleeping on a couch. I just want to sleep in a nice comfortable bed didn't realise it is going to be such a nightmare. SO PLEASE PLEASE DO READ REVIEWS FROM CUSTOMERS, THEY ARE GOING TO HELP YOU.

Great experience at this store. Was greeted when I went in and even though I have a tight budget I was given a 5 star service. I would definitely recommend paying this store a visit. Thank You!

Accommodating and pleasant on arrival. The manager Scott was very helpful in showing me a variety of products! Highly recommended.

Popped in Friday and it was so busy, but I was still greeted and made to feel like they had all the time in the world for me. Scott showed me different carpets to suit my needs and everything I needed to work best. Underlay and door thingys! I had no idea what I needed! I will definitely be recommending Scott and Chelmsford carpet right to all my friends and family. Thank you!

Went into the shop for a rug and ended up getting flooring for my whole house. Scott (manager) gave me exceptional service. Would definitely go again!
