F.M. & J. Wait Funeral Directors

I had expected that paying top price would ensure top service. This proved not to be so. The funeral itself went off well enough, except that the cars were not air conditioned and it was a hot day so many of us felt quite ill by the time we arrived. After that Wait’s service was absolutely hopeless. Six weeks later, despite a reminder from me with suggested dates, they had still not contacted the church to arrange a date for burial. After the same six weeks they had also failed to obtain the promised quotation from a mason for the gravestone. Eventually this came, followed by a draft inscription with schoolboy errors in the lettering. Two months after the funeral I am still waiting for a revised draft inscription. Meanwhile they managed to lose at least one cheque contributing to my charity. I can hardly go around our friends asking who else sent a cheque. During all this, I was sent a very prompt demand for payment, despite having arranged to have this sent to our solicitor. I reminded them of this, and two weeks later received a second, more insistent payment demand.

The saga continues , but it is already clear to me that I cannot recommend this company to anyone and I would summarise their service as careless to the point of negligence.

At this sad time in life when our emotions are challenged it's very comforting to work with people who are caring and at the same time offer practical advice that empathises with personal requests and requirements. Dignity delivered in every respect and made a difficult day a day without worry where reflection and and respect were foremost. No it's not the old family run firm as another reviewer commented but it doesn't stop them delivering an exceptional service. For those wishing for a beautiful location for a cremation then look no further than Dignity's Fradley Crematorium you'll struggle to find a more beautiful or restful place.

We used Waits for our dads funeral. We had a very positive experience from the moment we rang them. They were compassionate, professional and extremely helpful. They were able to deal with all our needs during an extremely heart breaking time. We attended the remembrance Christmas service which was so lovely and again thoughtful and compassionate.

My mums funeral was today and everything was perfect. In such strange times, the staff made everything seem ok and were professional, understanding and caring. They also looked after my dads funeral which was 3 and half years ago, which was also perfect.
They looked after my precious mum so well,paying attention to all the details I asked for and also very kindly went out of the way so our friends and family could find the car park to the venue.
Special thanks to the lovely Linda and Wendi who are both so warm and caring. You made such a sad time in very strange times, so lovely and so special.

Everyone at Waits was so compassionate and patient. They explained every step clearly and there was no hard sell or any pressure put on at all. They were very professional yet really sympathetic and the arrangements were made so much easier and less stressful because they were so understanding and also very kind. Nothing was too much trouble and I felt valued and cared for. They provided some lovely spare photographs, a charity box and a memory box I wasn’t expecting. Mark and Wendi made the whole process feel very personal. I am very grateful.
