Right from my first phone call to Lucy I felt reassured that I'd come to the right place. She gave me all the time and information in such a kind and respectful way on that call, that I was left feeling that I didn't need to look any further for the right funeral director for Dad's funeral.

Lucy was brilliant in everything she did – the calm and clear way she explained everything, her responsiveness (and patience!) to our emails about potential last minute changes and in particular, the way she empowered us to do the service ourselves. Something which we never would have thought we could do, but something which we're immensely grateful we did, and something which we couldn't have done without Lucy's discreet direction, support and her confidence in us.

Nothing felt too much trouble and it made a very stressful situation so much easier than it could have been. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Lucy.

The Individual Funeral Company was recommended to us by Fairspear natural burial site. We wanted a simple, low cost funeral, without frills or fuss and very much wanted it done our own way. During such a difficult time with so many decisions and administrative tasks to be done, Lucy really helped make this happen. Despite our wish to use the service to the minimum and at little cost, we were still treated with great care and respect. Lucy was always on hand for valuable advice and guidance in the weeks and days preceding the funeral, helping us through each step. On the day her presence was discreet and unobtrusive, she was sensitive to our needs and gave us gentle but practical guidance with the trickier aspects. It was everything we had wanted it to be. It feels strange to recommend a funeral company but I can highly recommend Lucy and her team to anyone wanting an individual, professional but sensitive and affordable service.

Lucy and the team were truly a gift to us in a really difficult time of our lives. From the very first phonecall which I made together with my mum before she passed away, to the service itself, we felt in such safe hands. It really gave comfort to my mum in that moment. Lucy clearly has an incredible depth of knowledge and sensitivity. She shared a lot of really useful information with us about what we needed to do to prepare, but did so both professionally and sensitively in a way that felt manageable. Then she helped us to work through the logistics with respect for our grieving process, but also the timelines we wanted to work to. The level of attention for my mum's wishes was outstanding.

Lucy was everything you would want from a funeral director; incredibly responsive to emails, exceptionally comprehensive and thorough in her replies, all the while being very sensitive. On the day Lucy and her team were calm, presentable and gave clear guidance and instructions. Lucy and her wonderful Individual Funeral Company went above and beyond the call of duty to help us over the sad few days when my siblings and I were faced with the death of our beloved Dad. I saw rave reviews online about Lucy’s ability to meet every single person’s individual need, and am so glad we chose this business. Lucy made what could have been so terrifying and difficult much, much easier to bear and even added little touches that helped my family with the grieving process.
