I sadly lost my dear Dad in February and 'shopping' around for a Funeral Director was not something I was ever going to feel comfortable in doing, therefore I Googled for a local funeral director and on seeing the amount of 5* reviews for Deric Scott, chose to look no further. I read numerous reviews which gave me the confidence to get in touch. From my very first contact with Jackie Buckingham right through to my Father's beautiful service and beyond, I was so pleased I found Deric Scott. The sensitivity, care, dignity and support was second to none. It was really important to me and my family that my lovely Dad would be well cared for and treated with the utmost respect and dignity, which he was. Jackie gently guided me through the planning of my Dad's funeral and nothing I asked for was too much trouble. Her responses were super quick and I was given so much information and advice that nothing came as a surprise as I went through each stage. Additionally, I have to give praise to Steve. Steve was Chief Pallbearer for Dad and did so much more. The support I personally received from both Jackie and Steve as well as the support my family received on the day of the service was invaluable. For what was such a very sad occasion, the whole process ran very smoothly indeed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Deric Scott for anyone who needs to know that looking after their loved one is far more than a job, it is a vocation. Thank you to everyone at Deric Scott who helped to make Dad's final journey a peaceful one.

My mother has just recently passed away and when I asked for recommendations for Funeral Directors from friends, they all said Deric Scott, and I wasnt disappointed. From the minute you step through the door into the funeral lodge you are treated with compassion for your loss, the utmost respect for your loved one who has passed, complete professional guidance and as if you are a dear friend.
I was looked after by the funeral director, Jackie, who has been with Deric Scott for over 20 years. She looked after my every need. Nothing was too much trouble. She is incredibly knowledgeable and you know right from the start that you're in safe hands and everything will be taken care off. I can highly recommend Deric Scott.

My first ever experience of arranging a funeral was recently with Deric Scott. They offered an extremely efficient and professional service from my initial point of enquiry and everything was explained clearly. Jack and Steve added a personal touch and nothing was too much trouble which put my mind at ease and helped reduce stress levels. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend fully.

Ours was a "basic service" funeral. I was a bit nervous about this, perhaps not honouring my loved one in the way he deserved. But the team at Deric Scott provided a truly excellent service. The interment itself was brief but conducted in an honourable and professional manner. This Company did everything they could do to make us comfortable in every way from start to finish. We wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend their services.

I am still absolutely blown away by the service we received from Deric Scott Funeral Directors.
I spoke with them the day after my mother had passed away and the very next day, Jack from Derec Scott, visited me at home in London.
They took care of everything: all funeral arrangements, liaising with the priest and cemetery, the booklet for the service and the flowers, which were really beautiful.
We were regularly kept updated with proceedings and received excellent advice all the way.
On the day of the funeral, Jackie and the chaps were lovely; friendly, respectful and helpful - everything went absolutely according to plan and they were so integral to the success of the day.
And the final journey for my mum to her resting place was in a Rolls Royce - she would have been chuffed to bits..!

Without doubt simply the best experience at such a difficult time! You never really know what good looks like in this space until you meet Jack and Hayley and when you need it the most these two were there for me and my family as we said goodbye to our amazing father. From the moment we met Jack and Hayley they were kind, considerate, did not rush us, informative, compassionate and tailored to all our needs - they listened, went at our pace (we never felt rushed) and made the whole experience from beginning to end about us, our needs and create a service that was both reflective and a celebration of the man we knew and loved. Every suggestion they made was well considered and came from a deep understanding of listening to us and their excellent experience to guide us at such a sensitive time. Thank you both for everything you did to support us - we never felt alone.

Words cannot express how incredible this funeral home is and I say home because that is how they made you feel - at home. In one of the most difficult times of our lives they went above and beyond to make the experience the best it could possibly be in the circumstances. Jack was incredibly understanding and supportive throughout and was extremely respectful and warm towards us all. There was never any pressure on costs and they were patient with us walking us through the process start to finish. From the beginning there was genuine care about giving our beautiful mother a send off with as much love and dignity as possible. We were all very grateful to have them during such a painful experience.

Deric Scott were so professional, patient and caring regarding our mum’s funeral in October 21. We can't praise Jackie Buckingham and her colleagues enough for the way in which they looked after us and all the arrangements for this very special day.

Nothing was too much trouble and Jackie managed the whole pre, during and afterwards arrangements thoughtfully and efficiently enabling us to have full confidence in the whole event going to plan, especially as we had never had to make such arrangements previously.

The Webcast Jackie suggested and arranged, and the “Reflection” sequence with personal pictures and music choice that we provided, enabled those who were unable to be at the actual service to see and hear the whole service either at the time, or later on and we could save the event for all time. We would therefore thoroughly recommend considering this as part of the service if you can.

Everything ran so smoothly throughout and we would therefore thoroughly recommend Deric Scott to anyone needing a funeral service.
