Just who the heck reviews a petrol station anyway?!

I do. And here's why: if you're going to put fuel in your car, why dump some supermarket tat in that doesn't have additives to make your engine pur sweetly? If you're going to get fuel, and you walk up to the guys behind the counter to pay, you want a smile, right? And if you want even more service, you want the option of someone filling up your tank for you, right?

Well, this Shell station has it all. An assistant on the forecourt, ready to do the filling for you! Staff behind the counter who always have smiles on their faces. And fuel so good, your momma wants to tell the world about it. In fact, I'd drive 50 miles in the wrong direction to visit this place.

It even has hot sausage rolls - and if you like meat, there's even a kebab van on the nearby roundabout. What else do you need? Go there. Go there now!

Ok, actually it's a pretty normal joint really. But the staff are friendly, and that makes a big difference.

The fella working the late shift was polite and seemed a genuinely nice guy, definitely makes a difference. Prices weren't too bad and typical layout inside, Costa etc

Generally okay, however last time I went there it was closed at just before 5pm. Cones across entrance. Wouldn't have been to bad but the big sign with prices was still lit which implied it was open. If this happens often then putting a sign at the roundabout would save people pulling in and having to turn around.

The polish dude who does the night shift is the best employee shell have!! Funny and good service. Deserves a promotion!!! Unfortunateley I have to say I recently went to this garage and the usual polish guy was not working, this was late on the way home from work at 2.30am, and I was refused alcohol by an Asian chap. I was confused as he told me I couldn't purchase until tomorrow. When I got back I checked to make sure they had a 24hr booze license... which they do. So I rang him up to complain. I asked his name to which he replied Allah. And said it wasnt him he just started his shift and then hung up.

LPG Oasis... A large Shell station with Little Waitrose for food. Close to the M3 and an Ideal place to top up LPG for this ever scarce resource. Stopped here at about 4am with the motorhome. Was open with only a night pay service. Cashier was not around so some delay before LPG was authorised. Would stop by to refill on return.

I have to say how lovely the staff are here. I have been living in a caravan site nearby and have found the people here so very friendly, helpful and kind. Not a cheap place to go for my groceries ... but walking distance and I am made to feel like I am popping in to see friends. Never batted an eye lid at my always buying the reduced stuff. Asking how I am, even "how did that pumpkin soup you bought the Rum for work out?" , given advice where to go for a shower when my caravan shower was failing me .... They have turned a boring generic service station, into a friendly local store. They are a basically kind, friendly, good humored team of people there. A smile when you are low is a true God send - and they always have a genuine smile. Thank you.

They put the prices up because of the panic buying craziness, be prepared to pay an extra £20 on fuel, if they have any! I had to go at 5am on a Sunday.
