I have not been out in a few years being housebound without a car (this was a rental car), so it was my 1st experience of the new fuel and difference's between them, and having heard a lot of complaints (I do not mean the garage, just the fuel alone) about E10 fuel causing many drivers to find it very poor for MPG, I went to use E5, but when I saw the price difference between the pump and the signage.

So I had to ask what was wrong and he explained their E5 was premium fuel, so I used E10 and luckily the car was fine with it, otherwise it was all good, but when I get a car again I will be looking closely at this as I struggled to get my head around this difference, but that's no reflection on the garage.

Great place. Usually, but not always, the cheapest fuel around. Always much cheaper than Morrison's or Tesco's in consett!

Prices shot up 13p/litre for diesel in 6 days. Where did the 5p/L help to customers go?

I am wheelchair dependent and occasionally drive alone. Usually my family make sure I have plenty of fuel but today I found I needed to deal with this myself. Lanchester garage did not appear on the FuelServe app, which is used by disabled people to enable them to find appropriate fuelling stations and receive help. I was expecting to have to drive to Consett but couldn’t get an answer from them through the app so I pulled into Jet in Lanchester. The assistance I was given was quick and could not have been better to enable me to get fuel. Thank you so much.
