Beautiful room 😍 comfortable bed very good shower. Quiet, slept very well. Pub itself was welcoming and helpful staff. Also very clean. Husband says sausages were wonderful. Breakfast full of flavour. Definitely recommended 👌

Stayed here with my wife for 3 nights. Lovely room, very clean. Very well run with excellent staff in all departments. Extremely friendly, efficient staff, in fact was one of the best we've ever had, and we go to many places. Reason for not 5 star rating is because the rules of no pets allowed.

We went on a busy Friday, knowing fireworks from the nearby train station, would be visible from the car park at 8pm. It was a nice little display over the hedges/trees . Winner!

The food was decent, though the triple cooked chips were cooked a little rare (maybe needed a 4th cook), and the pate starter wasn't great (my opinion). We ordered a side of fries with our kids meals, which didn't come. We had to ask 3 times for it to finally get delivered. And as our food was delivered, nobody asked if we wanted sauces or anything else. The "how is your meal" came as we were all nearly finished. It was also funny that they set us up nicely with a high chair for our 2 yr old, but left her place set with wine glasses and 2 sets of adult knife and fork.

Possibly mitigating circumstances as it was a busy night, but then it wasn't a surprise they were busy, so they should have had enough staff on.

All the staff were very pleasant, so no problems there. Otherwise it is a lovely pub, with lots of beer choices on tap, and a small, varied menu.

Food OK but not great. Would honestly not go back for food. My husband is a head chef with 30 years experience and also not impressed with food as were the rest of the party.
That said service was amazing, helpful and friendly, I cannot fault front of house.
Maybe an improvement on menu would help. One that the kitchen can execute without having to make it sound pretentious and just taste good, at a skill level they can deliver

Stayed in one of the rooms and it was delightful. Excellent value for money, tonnes of space, well equipped and very clean.

Staff are exceptionally helpful and accomodating. This was our first hotel visit with our first child and really met our new parent anxiety calmly and professionally.

We ordered food and drinks to the room which was OK. Fish was burned in places, batter undercooked in others and the nibbles were a little lack luster. Would return for convenience and to give another try as previously food has been top notch.

We came here for an evening meal as a birthday celebration, two adults and two older children. We'd booked a table which was ready for us when we arrived. The room was well laid out with generously sized tables so felt very spacious. We ordered appetisers to share: feta flat bread with houmous and sour dough bread with olives. For the main course we tried one of the steak deals (Thursday only), we had a good size sirloin steak with chips, onion rings and salad which is £35 for two people (the fillet steak deal is £40 for two people). We also upgraded to surf and turf with three large tempura prawns for £6 each. And the final part of the deal was a bottle of good wine for £7.50. The other mains we had were a pizza and the other was the steak and ale pie. All the food was fresh, beautifully cooked and very tasty. Unfortunately we were too full for a dessert, will have to come back for those. Also, there was a good selection of real ales at the bar which we'll also be coming back for. The service was attentive without being overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are looking forward to coming back. At just over £100 for four of us (appetisers, mains and drinks) we thought it was good value.
