Pretty disappointed. Penne Arabiatta lacked flavour entirely and didn't even have a hint of chilli. Pasta was over cooked. We waited for 5 minutes to be seated as there wasn't a member of staff to be found .

Limited lunch menu consisting of wraps, baguettes, jacket potatoes and chips, but what's available is reasonably priced and good quality. Obviously it's a pub so a good range of alcoholic beverages are available too. Nothing flash just good honest pub grub. Recommended.

Booked for a 21st birthday. Poor communication from the start. Arrived to set up and assumed tables outside would be put aside due to the 30 degree weather but all were booked. We were told we would have a bartender for the night but they were only there for 30 minutes. Guests from other parties kept coming into the hired venue, dancing and using the toilets which kept getting blocked. My buffet that I had provided (that I had to pay £60 for providing my own food) was thrown away before the end of the party when I asked them to wait. The venue was hired until 12pm but music was turned off at 11:45. Staff were very snotty with myself and my guests. Would definitely not recommend, never even got my £60 deposit back.

Good to see the open fire back in use and the old feel of the pub in place.

However, very loud music which kept stopping and restarting (as if someone was skipping the tracks) and an incredibly rude barwoman (young, blonde girl who tutted to my friend when SHE walked into him as she was on her phone) who shrugged her shoulders when she spilt the pint she was pouring, meant the visit wasn't overly pleasant.

A shame as the pub is such a nice building and I used to be a regular visitor as live very close by.

After my recent visit, The Two Brewers is, without doubt, my new favourite pub in Chemlsford.
I was treated like an old friend from the moment I stepped through the door and whilst I visited other establishments during my visit to the town none matched the welcome I received at the Two Brewers.
I ate several meals here and, as others have mentioned, the food is really good. They also have a good selection of drinks, with the options for spirits being particularly impressive.
A lot of thought obviously goes into everything they are doing, and speaking to the manager it was clear that they have ambitions to further improve the whole experience.
Overall, highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff, good range of drinks . Menu has vegan and vegetarian options. I had the Düsseldorf hot dog , sweet potato fries and garlic bread

Came in the winter. Fish was literally just frozen birds eye fish, not what you would expect from even the most basic of pubs for fish.

Also steak was literally out of Tesco opposite
