Unfortunately our recent experience in The Partridge Inn in Singleton this evening was very, very disappointing.
For a pub that sells itself as dog friendly it is definitely, our experience was that it is definitely NOT dog friendly!
We had ordered our food and received half of our meals and had ordered cocktails to go with our meal, after ordering and being served the tart I was told it was not the tart I had ordered and the waitress had been informed wrongly by the kitchen, however, I accepted the tart without question! I then began to eat my tart which turned out to be burnt but again I made no fuss!
We had taken our dogs with us to the supposedly ‘dog friendly’ pub however after the dogs barking twice for a very short period we were asked, very rudely, to put our dogs in the car! We had no car with us as we had walked to the ‘dog friendly’ pub so left!
We would Not recommend this pub to anyone with a dog or who is not a local as it was quite clear both dogs or visitors this the area are not welcome!

In response to the reply received from the Partridge Inn to my review left yesterday. Can I please make clear we were not given the options of taking the dogs in the garden, home or in the car, we were told, in an abrupt manner to put the dogs in the car!
Also, they did not bark multiple times, they barked twice and were quietened immediately!
Also, nothing about the managers approach was polite, it was actually extremely rude.
And to finish, we obviously did not pay for our food as we did not get the chance to eat it.

We have just been sitting in The Fox Goes Free in Charlton for the last two hours with our dogs without any incident or complain.

Unfortunately you will not get the chance to welcome us back.

Lovely village pub. Fantastic food, well presented and not over-priced. Full marks to the chef who made our sons birthday very special with a huge bowl of mussels. Undoubtedly, we will be returning.

Three of us had a meal together in this beautiful Inn. It was the busiest time of the day and we were warmly welcomed. The food was excellent. We sat in the garden which was lovely. Thank you for a great experience. I will certainly return.

Even though we are local, we have only recently discovered this lovely pub! The staff are all so lovely and friendly which makes such a difference. It's so cosy, great food and a good value kids menu. We'll definitely be back!

Went for dinner here as staying in the area for the weekend. Lovely spot, very warm and homely with an open wood fireplace. Service was friendly and prompt upon being seated. Halloumi starter was a tad over salted. I had steak and chips which was done very nicely. My partner had fish and chips, although tasty she did find the fish a touch oily. Overall very nice experience and would recommend and will return if in the area again.

This pub is the most quintessential English country pub you will find. I haven't been here for eight years, and the food now is absolute incredible. Staff are so friendly and helpful with a good selection of ales on draught. Very reasonably priced, and log fires give an amazing atmosphere. How it isn't the busiest pub in the area I do not know. For my money, a better experience than the more popular Fox Goes Free.

We went here for supper after a disastrous evening at Cowdray Christmas light. The service was quick and attentive. We had calf liver with mashed potatoes which were delicious 🤤. Lovely Christmas decorations and very British atmospheric pub. Love it and will be back

Superb - pretty much on our doorstep (5miles)... but never knew it was here.
We can see this becoming a regular spot for food and drinks (and entertaining for special occasions). Made to feel at home immediately, without the scripted standard service of other locations.
