Had a really fantastic time this evening at The Crown on the Wergs Road. Booked online as a late Christmas gift for my mom and daughter. Such a huge variety of meals, my mom had the fishcakes with fries and side of onion rings, and my daughter had the chicken Milanese. Both meals were so plentiful and really good value for money. I opted for the Asian-style crispy duck salad as I wanted something light; however, even that beat me. Delicious food and extremely good service from Frankie and Rosie. Thank you

The Crown today was amazing from the start to finish. Booked a table for 12 people in the restaurant for my Birthday. All food courses were excellent. Thanks to all in the kitchen.
Service was good. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you.

Had an amazing lunch today with my partner, reserved a table last minute online. Thoroughly enjoyed it, food was amazing and staff were very attentive. We definitely shall be returning.. enjoyed a bottle of merlot and a 3 course meal, my starter was amazing, king oyster mushrooms, followed by pork belly and finally passion fruit eton mess, the photos do not do it justice, no photo of the starters were taken, unfortunately we dug right in! Compliments to the staff! 5 star service.

Great vegan options. It was nice to see they had a special menu with dessert choices too. I'd definitely eat there again.

We had an wonderful time here. The food was excellent and the service was even better! The person helping was Frankie, she was amazing! very friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to accommodate us as we didn't have a reservation. This is our second time eating here and I can highly recommend visiting.

Really well cooked food which was full of flavour. Great service and a lot of effort made by the staff. Looking forward to our next visit already.

A really lovely dinner! Excellent service and amazing food! The lady at front of house who we assume is the manager, was really welcoming, friendly, and very efficient, the staff who served us in the restaurant were excellent, and the food was really good, a lovely bottle of Amerone with dinner, all in all, a lovely evening

We visited The Crown for dinner from Australia as my husband used to work there 6 years ago and had fond memories - unfortunately it was a huge disappointment! First impressions weren’t great when there was a rat scurrying around outside when we arrived. Despite booking months in advance, we were given one of the worse tables in the restaurant overlooking a big expanse of stained carpet. We had booked to do the Extra Special Festive menu but seemed like the waitress was unclear on what it was as we had to ask for our arrival drinks and bread to be served. The service was pretty poor and not what you expect for the price you are paying. There were 3 cocktails on the menu we tried to order and were told that they were unavailable - and also heard the table next to us be told there were other menu items unavailable. The food was pretty average with some strange flavour combinations. Our main meal was missing the pulled pork bonbons, the snowball dessert was only half a snow ball (expectation vs reality photos attached) and the creme brûlée (which was oddly lemon flavour - not mentioned on the menu) wasn’t served with sable biscuits. We also never received the Green & Black’s chocolate that was supposed to be part of the menu. Overall the interior seemed really run down and didn’t help that there was toilet paper on the restaurant floor. We were also surprised to see the dress code is no longer being enforced - a table of teenagers in tracksuit pants and hoodies were across from us. It was all such a shame as we had really been looking forward to this night out for a long time.
