Luckily we were earlier than expected for a viewing and so stopped for lunch. I am glad we did.
Outside the signage is a modern feel and quite inviting.
Entering you encounter a traditional country pub feel and although it seemed to be a place the locals go to, we were welcomed and staff were very friendly.
We were seated and the lady kindly took my crutches so they didn’t fall over. We were allowed to park the car outside the front window so we could keep an eye on our vehicle which had the dogs in. We didn’t know at the time it was dog friendly.
Menu is simple and prices are reasonable. I opted for homemade soup and a sandwich (a combo offer offered on the menu), this is a great idea as it saves paying for two separate dishes. I really liked the thinking behind this. My wife ordered home made lasagne and garlic new potatoes. The new potatoes were in a creamy garlic sauce and in a separate side dish. My wife said it was very tasty.
Would highly recommend the establishment if your passing- remember it’s easy to drive by but worth stopping if you want good food and a friendly atmosphere.
Highly recommend and would definitely go by again if we decide to move to the area.
Excellent, friendly but knew exactly what they were doing; I would highly recommend this place!
And yes there was evidence of dormice nests (which are an endangered native species) 😀
