Had a very pleasant lunch here on Saturday with some family members. The calamari starter was fantastic and the mains were fabulous too. The burger was excellent, steak sandwich superb and the ham and cheese ploughman's was stunningly good. They were very busy and that did mean longer service times, but as they say, the proof of the pudding....

Lovely lunch (ham hock open sandwich and steak open sandwich) which was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. Location was beautiful and full of character whilst the menu was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Amazing Sunday lunch! Pub was busy so would imagine it may be worth booking in future. Sunday lunches were really good and cooked well. Good choice of meats and all came with a good variety of vegetables and cauliflower cheese . Staff were friendly and there were lots of them so everything was kept clean and tidy. We will definitely visit again

Great little place for food and a drink right on the river. Plenty of seating both inside and out. Staff were very polite a helpful. The fish and chips we ordered were lovely. When in the area again in the future, would definitely go back to eat.

Have been very disappointed with my visit to The Boat Inn.
The food is extremely overpriced for what was served, you're better off saving your money and getting a bag of crisps.
I had the trio of meat roast...unless you want to be chewing on fat the whole day or on beef that's more like jerky I wouldn't get it. The veg was raw.
My partner had the cod and chips: the fish was over half batter and the chips were half scraps.
Definitely would avoid for food.
There's also no parking, have to look for a spare place in residential.

We went for Sunday lunch last Sunday, first time eating here with the new owners. The service was initially good and all the staff were friendly. The food we had (roast beef ) was lovely however we were only served a very small portion of cabbage and peas with the dinner. When we asked about the advertised braised red cabbage and cauliflower cheese we were told that they had run out, no alternative was offered. We asked for and were given a larger portion of the cabbage and peas. Our table was booked for 3 pm and I understand bookings are taken till 430 for the Sunday roast. I could see the restaurant was very busy however I don't think its good enough to not cater for the whole afternoon. The prices are a bit high which I don't mind paying for good food but I think the chef should ensure everyone has the same meal. When we had finished I did say to the server that we enjoyed everything we had but we were disappointed not to have all the vegetables. After that no one came back to us with the dessert menu or to see if we wanted any more drinks which seemed odd.

Visiting here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Had a lovely lunchtime meal in the pub with excellent food. Couldn't fault the very attentive service. Dog friendly and even supplied a little treat for him.
Would certainly recommend.

Lovely location and great service from the waiting staff, it's a lovely cosy and interesting pub.
The food was nice and we all enjoyed it but it wasn't quite 5 stars, slightly lacking in flavour and some dishes seemed small or to be missing something, I had the seabass which was a large portion (2 fillets) but just lacked a little flavour and the potatoes were a little cold, and the apple crumble which was mostly an apple puree with only a sprinkling of crumble
