Over the last year I have needed to contact the surgery over a number of issues some minor, some moderately serious and every time I have I have been treated with kindness, professionalism and been given the help that I have needed. Today I phoned and was able to speak to a receptionist within 15 minutes and the receptionist was again very helpful and did her best to help me. My experiences over the last year have always been very positive. At the moment the surgery has been struggling with COVID issues but this is not preventing them from dealing with their patients humanely and seeking to give them the best possible help. I very impressed.

I very rarely use my surgery, perhaps once a year but over the last few years it has developed into an extremely negative and stressful experience, specifically when attempting to book an appointment.
Again today, no appointments for three weeks and if I want to try earlier in this period I have to phone on the day. While I'm at work.
Or ask someone to book for me on my behalf, while their at work. With no guarantee of an actual appointment. Shocking.

My parents have been patients at this surgery for over 40 years. However it has seriously gone down hill in the last few years. You can't get through, you can't get appointments when you need them and most important of all my mum has been having problems getting her repeat prescriptions fulfilled. Currently she has been waiting over a week for her prescription which will run out on Sunday and still Friday evening 17.35 the doctor has not signed it off. She has called 3 times and even been in and spoken to reception. She's 76 and getting herself really worked up over it. Medication should not be messed with. It is totally unacceptable. If I could give them 0 stars I would.
Update to the above review. The prescription wasn't signed off and I had to phone 111 and get an emergency 5 day prescription on the Saturday morning. Absolutely appalling treatment from this doctors surgery. Who knows when my mum will actually get her prescription.

I suffer with seizures, and as of recent they are becoming very emotional/hallucinations and just overwhelming!!! I am 31 years old male. With a strong head but I have rung this place 3 x over the past two years when I have had a serious seizures (mentally drained)

All I want is a doctor to tell me I’m ok, but 3 x now I have been throbbed off and passed elsewhere!

It’s is soul destroying being a man and asking for help like this. And it’s the last time I will

Can never get an appointment. Even 111 booked me an emergency appointment, saying even though they have no slots they will have some available for us (111) in case of emergency, only to recieve a phone call from the surgery saying I'll have to find a walk in surgery to go to. Unbeleivable

Nurse told me to take ibuprofen and stretch my arms in response to me describing nerve impingement that I've had for over a year. Fast forward 2 years and my hand is atrophied. Well played.

This is probably the most pathetic surgery I have come accross ever. We hardly use this practices unless its absolutely a matter of urgency. My wife has been in such pain for 3 weeks now trying to get an appointment. She can't walk her leg is swollen due a stuck nerve. We have been to a osteopath, chiropractor privately. We have been to the ER and they all refer her back to the GP . Now if you call them for and appointment they only take life threatening patients only. The system are so pointless because no one can do anything unless you are referred by your GP , BUT you can't get an appointment at you GP!!! My guess is that they must be the new Hospital and ambulance drop offs are quite busy then. The people at this practice are absolutely rude and not qualified in my mind. They should close this practise.

Will certainly do so, as this " remarkable services " continued again today. 🤔

I have been with Chestnut Surgery for as long as I can remember. I will be completely honest all my interactions with the staff (Doctors and Admin etc...) have been a very pleasant. All my questions, answered quickly and professionally. I have booked appointments via the app/phone and email all have been extremely good service.

The 8AM call for emergency appointments has been know to be manic, due to thousands of people calling at the same time and admin being a small yet very professional and efficient team. I would advise to call later in the day and get appointment during the week. I have found this the bet way. I would recommand this Surgery to family and friends within their catchment area.
