I booked a one night mini break package in the Pen Y Fan suite. On arrival I was given a very warm welcome from Pete and was shown up to my room. The room was spacious, beautifully presented and very relaxing after a long drive. The added bonus to my great delight were beautiful mountain views.
After my evening meal it was time for my massage.
Wow!! Pete was incredibly professional and put me at ease straight away, I have had a few massages but can honestly say this was by far the best I have experienced. The name ‘Total Relaxation Massage’ is spot on. I can’t remember the last time I felt so relaxed.
After a very comfortable, restful nights sleep I enjoyed a nice chat with Pete whilst enjoying my breakfast. This was certainly the most relaxed host and home I have stayed at.
I also had a sneaky peek in the other rooms as I was last to leave and all looked equally lovely, I’m tempted to try a different room next time.
I would highly recommend the package, my only error was booking for 1 night and not 2 or maybe even 3. Pure relaxation.

What a delightful gem this is!
Situated in the picturesque town of Brecon and in the foothills of the spectacular Brecon Beacons, Cribyn Lodge is a delight from the moment you set foot in the door and are greeted by the lovely host.
Warm and welcoming, the bedrooms are all beautifully decorated and the beds very comfortable.
The communal lounge and conservatory are comfortable and inviting and a lovely area to relax in after a day exploring or climbing the mountains.
The twinkling lighting in the conservatory and candlelight throughout the lodge, lend themselves to the opportunity to relax and enjoy a conversation with other guests and Pete, the host for your stay.
The area is outstandingly beautiful at any time of the year and this is a perfect place as a base for your stay.
But the jewel in the crown has to be the bonus of this also being a massage retreat. With two very comfortable, warm and scented treatment rooms, and the hands of a master of his craft, whatever aches, pains, stresses or worries you arrive with, will quickly be soothed away.
I found Pete to be calm, respectful and reassuring. Other massages I have had in the past, pale by comparison.
So if you are reading this review with the intention of visiting the area, please don't hesitate. Whether for a night or two as a guest house, or better still, for the complete package, you will not be disappointed !!
And I even heard a rumor that regular visitors will get their own named mug ! Not a touch you would expect from other guest houses :) but a mark of the standards here to make you so welcome.

I needed a last minute booking as the weather was too cold to camp out. From finding Cribyn Lodge on the app to arriving, the communication from Peter puts bigger places to shame. This was a theme that Peters attention to his guests is second to none. Having had a very long day I was very tempted to try one of Peters world renowned massage skills but a quick walk into town thanks to an excellent location. Enabled me to get the best sleep I’ve had in a long time on my return. Breakfast was superb and I enjoyed the breakfast table conversation just as much. I left feeling energised and purposeful in many ways. Thank you Peter I will return !

I'm a globetrotter and my experience at the retreat was world class in every respect. The setting is stunning with a backdrop of the Brecon Beacons and the retreat is immaculate in every way from the fantastic decor to the personal touches. Pete is the ultimate host and the massage had me both exhilarated and deeply relaxed at the same time. Every minute touch had me buzzing. Add to that the many hours of incredible conversation about life, the universe and everything and you will understand why this was a very special time. I understand why people travel from across the globe. Thanks Pete for helping me take off my "pause" button and feel "me" again. Synergy massage retreat....it is exactly that. I feel renewed.

A truly blissful night away!!

Me and my wife chose to visit the Cribyn Lodge, home of Synergy Massage Retreat, for a one night stay to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and are so glad that we did. In order to spoil ourselves and relax we also booked in for a meal at the Hills burger restaurant and a couples massage, for my wife her first experience of any kind of professional massage.
We were welcomed upon arrival by Pete, he kindly asked due to current times that we sanitise our hands throughout our stay after entering the premises from outside, and if we minded having our temperature checked, he also showed us his own temperature 👍.

Pete treated us to a guided tour the facilities and our room, which was located in the house nextdoor too the Lodge check in and Synergy Massage Retreat.
The lodge and rooms were very clean and well decorated, very large bed, tv with fire stick for entertainment, large bathroom with whirlpool bath and had access to the kitchen downstairs for tea and coffee facilities etc.

For our couples massage which as done in the same suite and performed by Pete and masseuse Zoe.
Pete explained that he is a master in traditional hot oil massage and one of the best at what he does, I gather Zoe has been tutored by Pete to give as close of an experience to his own as possible.
He answered all questions that my wife had, as mentioned with no prior experience of massage, very professionally and helped reassure her putting her mind at ease.
Amazing experience from Zoe! My wife was massaged by Pete, I was made to feel totally relaxed for the entire hour and was like no other massage that I had received, one you must experience it for yourself.

I look forward to my next massage and receiving a massage from Pete himself in the near future.

We had our privacy for the rest of the day, until morning we went down for our healthy continental breakfast at the time we requested.

It was an amazing stay and a huge shame we could not stay another night, however left feeling happy and relaxed.

What an amazing first experience here with Pete. Having never had a hot oil massage ans suffering with a range of health problems including anxiety, I was not sure that it would really help me in any way but boy was I wrong. From the minute I arrived, I was made so welcome that my nerves soon slipped away. I found myself very relaxed in Pete's capable hands and the session was simply divine. I left feeling better than I have done in a long time and felt as though months of stress to my body had been relieved. I have decided to take out membership and treat myself now on a regular basis and can't recommend enough to anyone who needs to relax, unwind and recentre themselves.

Thanks Pete for working your magic and making my body feel so relaxed today. Here's to many more experiences with you will definitely be getting my friends and family to come visit. ❤️

We stopped off here on the way home for a hot oil massage, this was the first time I've ever had something like this and it was an amazing experience both relaxing and energising at the same time. The place was really easy to find and had plenty of parking. It was lovely, peaceful and clean inside. Thoroughly recommend this place for somewhere to stay and have a massage, Pete is brill.
