Lovely circular walk - just over 7 miles from Stow Bedon carpark. Walk down the Pingo Trail and along the Peddars Way to Thompson Water and then back through the woods and across the common. Great walk away from the traffic. Highly recommended

Find a sunny day and park the car at the long-closed Stow Bedon Station. Then take the 8-mile circular walk through some of the most beautiful, secret woodland countryside. Think Middle Earth or Grimpen Mire. Beautiful.

A really great walk with lots to see wildlife-wise, but some of the paths are not well maintained with nettles, brambles and fern almost completely obscuring the path.

My favourite walk, about 8 miles but getting a little overgrown at the moment.

Maybe the most beautiful area of Breckland, Thompson Common is especially unspoilt & tranquil. The pingo trail is quite easy to follow, really being flat pasture, though quite uneven in places & some of the walkways need caution when slippery...

Lovely 6mile walk not 8 as the signs states.
Starts with a straight walk through beautiful woods then tucked away the man made 1840 lake. Then fun walking around swaps. Leads to open meadows, village Road and the little woodland. Well worth a visit.

Lovely walk around the trail Met some new friends along the way. Easy to get too and parking is set back from the road which makes it feel a safe car park is well.
