No footpath exists up to the tower the views are exceptional though just respect all land you travel through if your willing to break the rules

I haven't been up to it but it's very impressive from a distance with a great story behind it.

Great local landmark, sits on private land with no authorised public access

There is no public access or right of way. It's best admired from afar.

Having a tower this beautiful without access is akin to having a magnificent art work and shutting it in a safe. A disgraceful thing indeed.
This tower enchanted me from all aspects; I anticipated the approach and the experience of viewing the most exquisite skies atop the hill.
Alas, some grumbly personage does not want to share.
How can one be so mean with a thing of such beauty…?

Impressive hilltop monument to view from the valley and surrounding footpaths but sadly there’s no public access to see it up close.

You can get a reasonably close view from the Blacko Hillside path, but the tower itself is set in private land with signs warning not to enter. It’s a shame as the view from the summit must be amazing.

The tower’s “official” name is ‘Stansfield Tower’ after the man who had it built in 1890 - John Stansfield.

I’m also a blacko and love knowing there’s places near me named after my blacko heritage
