Loved the place with all the history and free of charge to get in
Gift shop and cafe where you can get food and drinks
We had the full English breakfast and the full works hot chocolate
And the view you get from the top is amazing
Staff are friendly and chatty
Social distance and clean
Will be going for another visit well worth it

Took our daughter here whilst on Easter holiday and she loved it. She is so into all history at the min, she was worries about standing next to Henry but ok in the end lol would recommend to all visitors and with free entry (donations a recommendation)

Nice little castle built by Henry VIII in the 16th century. There is a restaurant on ground level with outside seating and it is very cute and cosy. Lovely to be there when the weather is nice, like today. When you climb up you have a view over the sea and there are tables where you can rest or grab a bite.

That's a hidden gem 💎 during a short visit of Portsmouth Southsea coast with a free access.Historically important castle for the guarding of the area with plenty of historical information available inside the castle🏰, which is maintained at high level.

On top you can enjoy the best view of the sea 🌊 (see photos attached). On the ground floor there is a souvenir shop and a lovely restaurant🍴 with outdoor seating that get very busy during sunny ☀️ days. Overall highly recommended for a short visit during a coast side walk.

The Southsea Castle is one of those places which transports the visitor to a time long gone but not forgotten. Although the interior of the castle being commercialized and converted to a cafe may be a dampener to the the purists among us, the exterior has been maintained almost as it was at the time of its construction. The sea facing was offers a beautiful view of the waters and the ships.

What a wonderful place to visit and to relax too. I look at it as a nice historical spot, well organized and very suggestive. If you're visiting Portsmouth, I recommend to have a walk here and enjoy the seafront and the view
