Beautiful cemetery. I wouldn't go out of my way to see the tree unless you are a big Hardy fan, but if you're at Kings Cross no reason not to go for a little walk and see this rather unique tree + headstone combo

Beautiful, quiet grounds.
Found out about this place from Atlas Obscura and thoroughly enjoyed the stroll around the beautiful gardens and of course, the Hardy Tree.

A must visit, & just a stone's throw from King's Cross. Interesting history.

Historic tree set in a grave yard. It’s publicly accessible but they have a fence around it so you can’t get too close. Lots of history here. The graveyard is quiet and lots of benches to sit and reflect.

I discovered this through julesguides. To my surprise my daughter knew of this tree.

Sadly the historic Hardy Tree in St Pancras Old Church Gardens fell on St Stephens Day 26th December 2022.
Named after English novelist and poet Thomas Hardy, who in 1860’s as an assistant architect arranged tombstones around an ash tree sapling while clearing the churchyard for development.
Not unlike what HS2 have done in more recent times, though they have been less poetic.

Nice quiet spot for a bit of reprieve from the city. Tree has an interesting history too.

Very ancient and historical place. Great park and churchyard to have a sitdown and a bit of rest.
