The imposing twin towers of the medieval church at Reculver dominate the skyline of Herne Bay, acting as a navigation marker for ships at sea. Have a cute restaurants next to the tower. Don't forget to take a deep breath and sit in silence whilst looking at the beautiful view. Car park nearby, coffee shop and public toilets, footpath along the shore suitable as pedestrians as riders.

If you want to go to a nice cycling trip from anywhere seaside Kent to Reculver don't wait to do it! Have a wonderful bicycle road all Kent seaside with an amazing see and landscape view. Especially when you get closer to Reculver you should cycle a bit more slowly to see, smell, hear, and feel that amazing unreal landscape and ocean view. That looks like unreal. Have so many nice bay's, restaurants and coffees through the bicycle road so that you also can have a break and swim, eat or drink something.

Very interesting history for this site and our kids had loads of fun just climbing the walls. It's quite high and near the edge of the cliff but this makes for great views. There's no entrance or English heritage staff here and you have to pay to park but there's a big kids play park nearby where you can have a picnic and chill out or there's always the beach of course.

Imposing medieval church towers set within an ancient Roman fort. Would recommend for a short trip, perhaps on the way to/from some of the lovely Kentish towns nearby like Margate!

This place is well sign-posted and there are several pay and display car parks within walking distance. The towers are set on a small hill, and there are a couple of plaques which give an overview of the fort and church towers. There are nice paths along the coast on either side of the towers if you want to explore a bit more.

Would recommend!

Walked across part of the coastal path to the tower, which was a very easy, pleasant couple of miles walk. Great views and there's a nice looking pub close by,unfortunately we didn't get time to sample their wares.

Small ruins of what was once an abbey adjacent to a castle settlement. What does this place its justice is the location. The most beautiful vista across the channel, with lush green hills to walk along the coastline. There is a good sized car park (Ringo) plus Hathats coffee shop with crepes and coffee to die for. Also toilets, baby change and changing places room. There's also a pub nearby, perfect! A beautiful serene meeting place for a walk to Herne Bay or Birchington.

Another of our attempts to escape the masses while on holiday in England: and it paid off. Such a beautiful spot, and a lovely atmospheric place to have a wander. Ample parking. Decent slope up to the tower but worth a little huffing and puffing for those of us less than fit.

Worth a visit for an hour or so. It doesn't look like it'll be around for much longer as it's pretty close to the sea now. It's free entry, but you pay for parking. There's a good cafe by the car park. Lots of walks along the coast. There's a popular children's play area and loads of lovely sparrows perching by the cafe waiting for cake.
We went in November on a Saturday and it was pretty busy, so I'm guessing it gets packed during the summer.

This was the oldest roman historical monument that I saw I guess 400 AD.

Excellent history persevered.

They have ample car parking and a great beach walk very quiet area. Better visit daytime on a sunny day. The beach is not good for swimming or diving just walking
