First time using out English Heritage membershipsfor a while. Fabulous little gem visited on wayhome to Midlands from Minehead. Beautiful quiet atmospheric setting with plenty of bird song and lamb bleating. Quite a complete cistercian monastery with lots of sympathetic roof reconstruction etc to give feeling of what it was like. Enthusiastic and friendly member of staff. Beautiful and unexpected gem.

It is worth a visit. Car park near by, literally on the opposite side of the road. At the ticket office, coffee, hot chocolate and tea served and you can buy the usual English Heritage books, boxed cakes and other touristy items.

A very buitifull Abbey with lots of history behind it. Very interesting to see how the monks lived and how the life would of been like for them for example, how they would of had a divine service 8 times a day and that they were expected to spend 1/3 of there time in the church. The staff were very kind, friendly and knowledgeable.
Well worth a visit.

Cistercian Abbey, well preserved by English Heritage, has a lot of to explore. The monks dormitory is intact with lots of the medieval tiles.
A good day out.

Picturesque place and beautifully kept, this abbey is at peace with itself. It is amazing to see the old original floor tiles (uncovered quite recently) and picture the monks walking on them, they are in great detail and stored in a safe place for all to enjoy. The building and grounds are superb, there is lots to see, two floors to explore and some impressive rooms as well as ruins. Well worth a visit to spend some peaceful time at. There is a little shop where you can pick up gifts, memorabilia or just a hot drink from a litre machine.

Fantastic! Exploring so many rooms and the courtyard. A lot of interesting information and hidden things to find.
Have passed many times and finally visited, so glad we did, highly recommend. Gentleman there was brilliant, new every part of the Abbey and helped get so much more from the visit. Well done English Heritage!

One of the best Abbey’s that we have been to. It’s in a beautiful area of Somerset, once you have visited they have a great cafe up the road at Torre Cider Farm, which has plenty to do for children.

Unexpected find whilst in the area. Lovely old abbey with so much of it in tact. Friendly volunteer informed us of the abbey's history. Free parking opposite, toilets and shop on site.
