An historic site, which during WW2 would have been of great significant importance.
Most of the buildings remain.

Came across on a lockdown walk, fascinating. Glad a little bit of WW2 history has been preserved.

It is part of our WW2 heritage. One radar station ,one engine room and one communication hut.All concrete , in a beautiful location on the headland at Ravenscar.

Lovely cliff top walk to it. If you're into this kind of history it's really good

National Trust instructions to access site are a bit confusing, but you can access by going down the Cinder track or the Cleveland Way, the latter having sheer drops over the cliff close to the track. A lack of signs from the National Trust doesn't help either. The Ravencar Radar station is interesting, but sadly needs some TLC, some of the information signs are not readable anymore. Beautiful views though and the tea shop is great, lovely food and staff, and dog friendly too!

Down in this neck of the woods and decided to have a look in. Interesting spot worth a look. Interpretation boards fading away so an update would be a bonus.

A nice surprise while walking along the cliff top at Ravenscar. WW2 lookout post and radar station with information boards. Worth a visit if you're there

I'm a big fan of anything WW2. So when we visited Ravenscar yesterday and was told it was 20 minutes away I persuaded my wife to try it.
The problem is with the Cleveland way (which you use to access the site). There are parts where you are 2-3 feet from a shear drop and no safety features (health and safety? With us old ones needs to think about falls)
When we arrived the buildings were fenced off and only had a billboard about their use - so not exactly mind blowing! Left to decay. Needs a bit of care if they are to be a good attraction.
