No obvious signs to reception until you go past! No where obvious to park as new arrivals due to building works going on. Shower/toilet facilities were adequate. No obvious place to empty grey waste. No contact with staff from the moment we drove in. Building works going on so not very relaxing. Nice easy walk to the lake.Better signage needed.

This is one of our favourite sites, the toilets a bit of a walk from the top field but then camping isn't en-suite and they are immaculate! Dave, the warden is a fantastic bloke who'll bend over backwards to help you out, all those whining about him not being there means he was out knocking his pan in on site. Location is fab, Armathwaite hall is a 10 minute walk through the site where you can take in breath taking views of Bassenthwaite Lake and enjoy splendid surroundings. The Pheasant Inn and Lakes distillery are close by as is the converted Bassenthwaite station which is an excellent cafe. Keep up the great work, we'll be back 👍

My partner found the pod online and I was surprised it was available. We debated a cheap holiday abroad but I'm really glad we stayed in the UK. The pod is immaculate and really well decorated and presented. It has everything you need from the hot tub, bbq/fireplace, tv's in the living room and bedroom, heated flooring, fridge with freezer dept, wine fridge, outdoor seating... The weather unfortunately took a turn for the worse while on a trip to keswick so we were soaked but it made the hot tub even better. Hearing the rain on the decking roof while having a soak was bliss. The only issue we had were the flies, obviously not the owners fault and there were flies traps available but I might recommend taking a plug in or bug spray. I'd take extra towels as although towels are provided and a heated towel rail in the bathroom, it would be handy to have a couple of beach towels for the hot tub and an old one for the kitchen floor when nipping for a drinks.

Love coming here. Very peaceful site, unless the jets are passing which is a lovely sight.
Toilet and shower block available for campers. Nice and tidy site. Owners very welcoming and will give advice and directions for places to go. Zoo 10 mins walk through a field, great zoo. Very close to the the lake and easily accessible with kayaks etc. BBQs allowed aslong as you use one of there slabs.

The last part of our NC500 trip and I have to say the most unwelcoming.
No reception to speak of and no information of where the facilities are.
Also the most expensive site we stopped at!
Would of been nice to of spoken to someone about the local area but didn’t see anyone to ask!

Reception never manned and very hard to find. Your given Phone numbers for the warden and office, no one answers or calls you back. Have to walk through building site that sounds like they are having a rave.
No clue where to go on arrival, pitches are all on uneven ground or on a slope, OMG the sheep never shut up all day and more to the point night, then you tired and the shooting starts in the woods. Building works is loud, never once saw a member of staff on site. The electrical outputs are that low they trip when boiling a kettle, it's looks a clean place but it's frustrating on the whole.
Advise, just pull up and stay if you want to go here it's never manned. Left day early wasnt relaxed at all, a big thanks to ruining a needed break.

My wife and I have been staying here in our motorhome for the last 8 weeks (leaving tomorrow) while we await our new build house to be completed. The owners are very friendly and the wardens/managers are very willing to assist, friendly and hard working. The facilities are more than adequate.
It’s a shame we will not be here for the opening of the bar/bistro but as we will be living nearby, I’m sure we’ll return to enjoy a drink and bite to eat with the staff.
8 weeks here has flown by and we have both left very happy, no complaints whatsoever.
