Martins Hi-Fi

Since the demise of a certain other Norwich shop, this is +the+ mid and high end hifi place to go in Norwich. There are a couple of others a few miles away, but this is the best. The customer service is second to none, the knowledge the guys here have is amazing too. Demo room is wonderful. And they're totally happy too if you just want to browse and admire the kit. Highly recommended.

I had been in contact with Martins HiFi for a few weeks. They had Selekt DSM for sale.
I haven't been able to get a demo of anything due to Covid, but as regulations relaxed I was able to visit and audition a bargain.
I took my own Majik 109s, since they were in short supply.
And a superb demo followed. Quite apart from the Selekt DSM itself, which sounded excellent, Steve walked me through the capability and set-up with what could be achieved with this unit. I toured the mechanical details, and I was very happy with my choice. So I decided to purchase. I live 150 miles away from Martins HiFi. Because of their friendliness and knowledge, I didn't mind a 300mile round trip to see them, get a super bit of Linn kit and then to return home with it. The pinnacle of the visit was watching Steve wrestle with the box and packaging, which needs a university degree qualification to repack it - funny. Super demo, lovely hospitality, good advice and I even picked up some great tips for tunes to expand my vinyl collection. Super dealership. Thoroughly recommended.

Popped into Martins yesterday and spent about half an hour with Marcus who was the font of all audio knowledges.
Highly jealous of a hi-go set up Santa brought our daughter this Christmas I too wanted to jump back into vinyl after years of synthetic, digital streaming. We very quickly decided on the B&W 607 S5s anniversary edition paired with a British made Rega IO amp and a Rega Planar 1 turntable. The sound is incredible!! We have sonos in the house and it’s good but not like this. To me this is the difference between reading a book and kindle, a loved and lived in leather jacket or a vegan leather one. I was so glad to part with my hard earned shiny ones to a highly reputable, local independent. I would highly recommend Marcus and the team for all and any of your HIFI needs from an £8 RCA cable to a full blown custom set up of over £200k! They literally cover all bases!

For you audiophiles out there, yes I’ll be repositioning the speakers once we’ve got Christmas out the way!

I visited Martins Hi-Fi earlier today, what a showroom, it was like being a kid in a sweet shop!
I have a viewing booked to listen to some REL T7's in the listening room. I was met by Ian, who makes a lovely cuppa, nice one Ian!
My meeting was with Steve Forrest, i have to say, what this person doesn't know, probably isn't worth knowing! I sat in the listening room for around an hour, listening to music, and discussing various music related topics.
I have come away a very happy bunny, and know I need to part with some cash on these beautiful sounding pieces of audio equipment. Nice on Ian & Steve, will look forward to seeing you both in the not too distant!

Recommended by a friend of a friend - I wouldn’t normally use a third party to install kit. But I’m SO glad I did, on this occasion. Had an initial visit by Marcus followed by email suggestions and pics appropriate for my budget. Chose Sonos surround sound systems for two rooms and a giant telly. All Alexa activated. They even price-matched a local retailer for some of the elements. Service top class, knowledgeable, explained the geeky bits in my language. Installation done by a great team over a couple of days; many thanks to Richard, Kevin and Alex - you were all brilliant and jolly nice chaps too!

Marcus, Jack and the team could not have been more helpful and accommodating in helping me to acquire the hi-fi system I have longed for all my life for my new home. Everything from numerous listening sessions to sourcing a first class Sony TV and full installation and set-up make them a perfect one-stop shop. There's a reason I've been a customer for nearly 25 years!

Do you remember when you could talk to a company, an organisation, a person, and they would listen? They would take the time to tune in and understand your needs, and steer you in the right direction..... Martins Hi-Fi is that company. Yes, you will see mouth watering high end, esoteric equipment, but also equipment that suits more modest budgets too. Add to this, experience that goes way back and a passion that doesn’t fade, it’s a heady mix that keeps me coming back for more.

Richard serviced my LP12, and I sat it upon my new walnut Hi-Fi Racks equipment support. Steve designed it to fit my valve amp he sourced for me, and handsome it looks too. I added a streamer with Steve’s advice and after a short stint with a phono stage that wasn’t quite right, I was introduced to Gold Note and their PH10. The difference was staggering and worth every penny. The best upgrade I have ever experienced. It’s hi fi alchemy at its best. Unconditionally recommended.

Just a quick note to say thanks to Ian at Martins HiFi for his help and knowledge with a recent upgrade of my system. I have a Naim based system and was looking to upgrade the turntable, digital source and speakers. Ian's help found me with a set of Spendor D9.2 s. a Rega P8 and a Bluesound 2i. With the impact of both Covid and the extra inconvenience of customs clearance and duties post Brexit, Ian was able to help get the kit out to me here in France. Excellent service throughout and good follow up. Many thanks.
