Was told by 111 to go in on Sunday at 6 pm wasn’t actually seen in A&E until 11, however once seen they were wonderful nurses couldn’t have been kinder and gentler. I was in a real state have lymphoedema and it had swelled up so much it was weeping and so painful I couldn’t even lift my feet off the ground.
Was there for 46 hours in the end moved onto 3 beds in 4 different places within the A&E department because no beds on the wards.
However as I said the nurses were amazing especially Kallie , Megan Tracey and the most caring nurse I have ever encountered the wonderful Asha on night shift she really cared and helped me so much .
I felt so sorry for them all it was a bank holiday and they were run off their feet trying to juggle so many patients yet still helped everyone.
I just want to say a massive thank you to them all

Amazing care given in RGH yesterday. Saw empathetic nurses and the surgical team.. Evan was amazing. Although things didn’t quite go to plan with transfers etc the care I received here was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. Had to go to Prince Charles for a follow up this morning and the care there was non-existent. The drs and nurses couldn’t give a hoot about patients. It’s made me realise how lucky we are to have the royal glam and the individuals who work there. Fantastic hospital and staff.

I went to A&E at 6am on a Wednesday with severe eye pain, I couldn’t physically open it. I waited 5+ hours to be seen whilst in agony only to be told “sorry you need to go to Specsavers they’re more equipped, we can’t help you” after I respectfully said I can’t leave as I was effectively blinded in pain, I had to plead for help! against their “advice” and being frowned at I finally got through to the emergency eye clinic, it turned out I had a very large and painful corneal abrasion, temporary blinded in one eye with excessive inflammation that required antibiotics and steroid treatment including 4 follow up appointments! The A&E team I dealt with that day were entirely negligent and the wait in A&E was appalling. Thankfully the eye clinic doctors were much more considerate

My first time ever in the RGH last night and although the wait was long there were no beds which is highly understandable I was seen to fairly quickly those nurses and med staff are literally not walking but running around that place to get to people as fast as they can thank you guys

The care and expertise that I have received over the last five years from the Colorectal and associated departments has been excellent. My thanks are definitely insufficient to adequately express the true debt that I owe the medical staff for their exceptional care. I could not have wished for better. Thank you all.

The care given to my mother from A&E was exemplary. She was seen and admitted very quickly. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The wards are very well run. In the days of the NHS being in such a mess, this hospital is an example of how things should be done.
