We stayed in one of the bell tents which was the most comfortable camping experience I have had whilst still feeling like I'm in a tent. You can stand up inside and it felt spacious and comfortable. The road down is very narrow and very bumpy and fairly steep which is a bit hairy especially in the dark. I don't know what I would have done if I had met someone coming the other way as there are very few passing places. The facilities are 'back to basics' with communal utilitarian loos, showers and dining room. My suggestion would be to update the breakfast offering to a small and a large breakfast as currently you only get 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 hash brown etc. Fantastic location.

Beautiful location, so peaceful, and the views are amazing. The walk down the river is great. Lots of space for kids to run around. The lounge has lots of games for all ages (or ask at the desk, they have some stored too). A number of fridges and freezers in the self catering kitchen. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful (above and beyond). The only downside for us was the very little storage in the bedrooms (room for 8 only had one small cupboard), which is a hindrance, especially if you are staying more than a night or two.

Warning: the road down is very steep and broken, it is fine if you are a confident driver but if not I would avoid it. This said the location on the river is stunning which does make up for the remote nature and if you intend to walk or canoe there.
The rooms were basic and neither comfortable or uncomfortable but the kitchen was well provisioned and had ample fridge/freezer space. Further the staff were very helpful and breakfast was very good.

Rough round the edges, neds a bit of TLC. The road down to it is single track and very steep, but really enjoyed the stay and the staff were really friendly. Located nicely to take advantage of the local area.

Friendly staff, worth the money as it was a cheap stay. Lovely grounds.
Road down to the hostel was tricky, best to oark on the other side of the river and walk across the bridge.
Would happily go there again

Incredible setting, riverside with large grounds and lovely large house. Very friendly staff, only issue is if on a top bunk the emergency fire light is a green LED so worth bringing an eye mask, but extremely friendly and welcoming staff make this a great stay. Excellent self catering kitchen and decent catered breakfast options available.

If driving be prepared for an extremely narrow one width car final decent. Take caution as this only really has one passing space and consider parking at top or across the valley if reversing is not your strong suit.

Great place to explore the Wye valley and surrounding areas. YHA great for a short break Brian was very helpful. It's was being refurbished while I was there but didn't impact on my stay but the rain in the night kept me awake in my tent, 😬

Visited in December. Took extra layers but place was freezing and most of the electric heating was not working properly. Along with that the water pressure was down and in a group of 50 would only allow for one person to shower at a time. Beware the track to the hostel can be treacherous in bad weather and to take additional care.
