Very nice grounds, good looking exterior and excellent parking. A good place for a wedding or business function. Good value for the price we paid. Corridors and windows are a bit dated. Breakfast was a disaster. The 2 serving staff were absolutely run ragged. Tables left uncleared, people were queuing for replacement fry up items, the coffee machine ran out of coffee and did not get fixed for 20 minutes. I took one croissant of the 3 left which was a mistake as once gone they were never replaced! This was a management issue, there were at least 100 people booked in for breakfast and inadequate resources allocated. When we left it was 7 deep at checkout, so do it in advance. I would stay again if attending a function and would not be having breakfast.

Such a beautiful place and hotel 😊❤️
The food from the bar menu was very tasty and very nice, the lovely man that served us JOSH was very friendly and helpful.
The room we had 212 was very clean and the bed was huge and very very comfy 😊
Over all if you are thinking of booking to stay here, do it 😁😊

Sadly the pictures you see are not representative of the hotel or our stay. There is no gym, the beautifully cultivated gardens were as elusive as the non-existent gym. Everything needs a lick of paint, TLC and some new furniture. All very old, thread bare and tatty. Please note a 3 bed room is a folding Z bed… the photocopied menu in the room was indicative of the overall standard.
The only thing that made our stay an absolute pleasure was Sheralyn, part of the reception team, who was absolutely fantastic, helpful and really professional.

A beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. When we arrived unfortunately our room wasn't ready, so the receptionist and the staff did their best to sort it. We had a fantastic time, thank you.
However my husband wasn't keen on the see through bathroom.

The grounds the hotel is on and the look of the hotel from the outside is lovely. The staff were also very friendly and nice throughout our stay. However, there are a few things which weren’t the best and for the price we are paying for each night would expect more as you could get better in a premier inn. Firstly the bed was very flat along with the pillows so were not the comfiest sleeps, we also paid for a superior double which we would expect to be a double bed but was actually two singles put together. The room themselves where very spacious the bathroom was done really well but the rest of the room was very dated and needs a refurb and maybe even having better tvs as the ones in the room are very cheap and smart tvs will go down better. The hallways throughout the hotel also need a refurb and had a slight stale smell to them. We thought the room was really good that it had an electronic way of either saying you need your room made up or do not disturb. However, there is no point of them as no acknowledgement was made with them. After our 2nd night we clicked the button for the room to be made up but nothing was done. There was a notice in the bathroom saying towels left in the shower would be changed but nope they didn’t even come into our room. I understand that during covid this happens less but don’t have a sign saying it’ll get changed when they don’t. Later on we did notice on one of the forms in the room that rooms aren’t tided but clean towels or anything will be left outside the room each day your there but again this didn’t happen either. So not sure what one we should of got but we got neither. The breakfast was mediocre and like I said before premier inns do it better (for cheaper). The third morning there it was a buffet which I understand as it was busier, however, we had to wait a while before we saw someone to ask for toast and there was no eggs in the buffet and if this was something that was made on request it would of been nice to be told this. Overall we had a decent stay but not worth the money paid and the inside needs to be updated to look as good as the outside.

I was there on a conference. No water or tissue in room and it was cold. No instructions on how the room equipment is used. It is a shame as the room is large with a wide bed, which is positive. The hotel is difficult to find even with the help of my UpToDate satellite navigation system.

The staff were absolutely wonderful, all of them. Our room was lovely, bed very comfortable, Everywhere was very clean. Menu i must admit was a little disappointing but didn't present too much of a problem. We also took our cat who settled in very quickly! All the staff made a big fuss of him. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be using this staying here again next visit.

The good:

The Hotel is set in a beautiful location, just off the beaten track enough to be quiet but still easy to find.
On arrival it was a little quiet and there was nobody at reception. No obvious way to get attention but I got spotted by one of the cooks that was passing through after a few minutes and he went and got someone to get us checked in.

The room was perfectly clean and very nice looking. Good facilities and a well decorated room.

We went to the bar for dinner and it was lovely. The young girl at the bar was extremely friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us, its a shame we were both so tired as we could have quite happily sat there for a lot longer.

In the morning we went for our included breakfast. The waitress came over and suggested full english's as a standard breakfast. My other half negotiated something a little different as a vegetarian, which she was more than happy to do and I just had the standard breakfast which was very nice, although perhaps slightly smaller than I would have preferred.

The bad:

The restaurant was the most dated room that we came across, with some of the windows having a really nasty draft.

The bathroom decor was....interesting. As other reviews have said its fine if your away with your supermodel girlfriend, but perhaps not as much if your away with the wife and certainly not if your there with just a friend.

The mattress was the softest mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life, which unfortunately as a larger gentleman (read, fat ba******) I found my head and legs ended up higher than my butt and it was the worst nights sleep i've had in years.

But fully aware some people love a soft mattress so your mileage may vary.

Finally the EV charger was a bit of a disappointment. I arrived at 17:20 and found 3 of the 4 on site chargers available, plugged in and started charging.

However, it only charged for 4 hours 14 minutes, then stopped for about 15 minutes, charged for a further 1 hour 50 minutes and then stopped completely. So from midnight until 10am the next morning it didn't charge at all and I ended up not having enough power to get home in one hit. Bit of a blemish on an otherwise fantastic overnight stay.
