Had an excellent stay at Hempstead House. They hosted my best friends wedding. Everything was fabulous and Danny was marvellous, making sure everything ran smoothly and making sure the happy couple and all guests had everything they needed. The rooms are well decorated with very comfy beds. The food was also lovely. All in all had a fantastic time. Thank you

It was a nice place, a little bit dated in places. Curtains and bedding looks like it came straight from the 80's. However the rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were really friendly and very accommodating. The meal, I don't know if it was because I ordered seafood but it was uncomfortably salty. I skipped the cod and moved onto the spinach and yep, salty again. It's a nice place like I said. I can't fault the service however there are improvements needed to justify the price of staying and dining here.

Just wanted to say that the hotel made our wedding day so special in July everything went so well and on the day. Our wedding coordinator Danny was absolutely amazing his attention to detail was second to none. He put me at ease just before walking down the aisle as I had a moment. Hempstead House are very lucky to have him. The whole team really want to deliver a day you will both remember from great food music and how the venue looked on the day everything just ran so smoothly. Big thank you to all who were involved in our special wedding day 13th July 2022 lots of love Sandra & Rob Mitchell xx

I stayed in the beautiful Ashbury suite the night before and night of my wedding. The staff were amazing and very accommodating, they did everything they could to ensure we had a chilled, calm lead up to wedding all the way up to the morning after. The suite, was absolutely perfect for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in. The photos truly do not do it justice. I was a little worried it wouldn’t be large enough to get ready in (makeup artist, hairdresser, 3 bridesmaids, mother of the bride, photographer and a flower girl) I was happily proven massively incorrect and it was perfect.

A lovely cosy Spa Hotel. Rooms are vintage but with modern fittings and are well taken care of.

The Spa is high quality but doesn't have many loungers (3) and around 8 chairs - on a Saturday afternoon, when there are a good 20 people here, that means that there a number of folks who are only able to hang their stuff on a hook rather than settle down for a nice relax on a lounger. Sunday morning was very quiet though!

The Spa also has what I can only describe as the most delightfully violent hydrotherapy pool I've ever experienced. The jets and the water bubbles and foam are powerful enough to shove you around the pool. It's amazing and enough to feel like you've had a massage treatment!

Food is delicious and while the staff were attentive when they approached us, the service was a bit slow and did take time to allow us to catch their eye. Still, if you're in a Spa hotel, you shouldn't really be rushing around I suppose.

This is the second time I have stayed at Hempstead house as a loan travel, absolutely love this place, feel so welcome and so comfortable being here alone. This Spa is one of the best I have visited and most important, the pool is a fantastic temperature 😀. The massage I had was brilliant (hot stone) The restaurant is beautiful, comfortable and the food is wonderful, the staff are fabulous. The room is perfect, exceptionally clean, great shower, comfy bed, I stayed in the original part of the building, the rooms reflect the character of this beautiful place, very elegant and tasteful furnishings. There is a little room/snug on the ground floor where I was able to do some work, surrounded by beautiful decor and comfortable sofa. Every one of the reception staff were genuinely happy and extremely helpful.
Hempstead house is a real little treasure and so reasonably priced, This will definitely be my little go to place for a relaxing getaway.
Compliments to all the staff at this beautiful place.

Had afternoon tea in Lakes Restaurant which we have visited in past, but on this occasion, service was lacking a little. I don't understand why the waiters & waitresses didn't regularly visit the tables to see if more milk, water, tea, jam, spoons, etc were required, we had to constantly try to get their attention as they were never in the restaurant when we needed something. I understand they were busy, but surely good customer service means you check if everything is ok & offer more tea, milk, water, etc? The cakes & mince pies were tiny (1 bite), & the selection very limited. Lovely surroundings, but portions were definitely smaller this visit.
