I came here on a trip with school.

I was very impressed with the friendly staff, with great punctuality and delicious food. All-round tea, coffee and biscuits was a good gesture. Clean, comfy beds and great views of the landscape. Would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing and quite stay near the historic seaside town, Scarborough.

And it's pet-friendly, which is a bonus!

Great location for a conference, weekend event etc. 6 miles north of Scarborough & isolated in own grounds, large gardens, tennis courts, close to N.Yorks coastal walking route. Warm, clean bedrooms (with NO TV noise) centred around the conference hall, plenty of TV lounges & quiet reading rooms. Good meals in the dining room (next door in the main house). Plenty of parking but surface is muddy when raining. Great staff & nice atmosphere, ideal for a group event.

Location -amazing. Venue tidy & clean. Kitchen staff - top notch. Waiting staff - young and couldn't be bothered. Reception staff- friendly but lacking interest. Honest opinions based on experiences. However an amazing place. Would go back. Thanks all.

Long weekend for yoga classes. Great service, all the staff so friendly and welcoming. Went out of their way to address people's needs, especially with food intolerances/ allergies. Had lovely stroll around grounds whilst others found good walks nearby.

Had a wonderful afternoon tea. The staff went out their way from phoning about the menu to the attentiveness on the day. Nothing was too much trouble. They also allowed me to tinker on the piano. The picture speaks for itself.

Front of house Julia is a true asset. Friendly, professional and so efficient. She made our groups stay memorable.
Having said that there were some niggles elsewhere. A somewhat unhelpful front desk, confusion around some accessible rooms.
Food was acceptable, breakfast was plentiful!
Would we stay here again? Probably.

Previously a Rowntree training centre. It's an old historic building and campus with various gardens, leisure and rentable conference spaces and hotel accommodation

Breakfast and dinner provided. Lunch open to the public during the week.

Friendly helpful staff.

Basic but pleasing rooms, some disabled friendly with good access, grab rails and wet rooms.

On-site parking.

Only a couple or so miles from Scarborough centre.

Grounds overlook the sea

Good for art, walking and other group events
