The Premier Inn Cockermouth was generally a good experience. There were friendly staff, spacious rooms, ample parking, all at a convenient location. Mostly, things were good. On the down side, the windows didn't open at all, making the rooms a bit stuffy. Also, one of my family is vegetarian. Vegetarian food was advertised, sausages and vegetarian bacon at breakfast, but it wasn't readily available. It came too late. By daughter had already moved on to her desert. The first night of our stay, the waitress (who was very friendly) told us that the kitchen was closed, and that the youngest members of our group, an autistic boy of nine and another boy of five, couldn't have the ice creams which they were hoping for. This was at about 9.30 on Friday evening. We were very surprised and rather disappointed with this, as anyone would imagine. Apart from that, the meals we had were enjoyable. I would go again if I needed to, but I hope the management will take these points on board for the future.

Stopped here for one night. The staff were friendly, ample parking (even when the hotel was fully booked), and the rooms were clean. I've stopped in many Premier Inns and this was by far the cleanest I had stopped in.

I looked outside the window to find a roundabout. You'd never know, you can't hear a thing. We were also opposite the main door to the floor which slams shut but once in our room, you couldn't hear it. The rooms are amazingly sound proofed and I didn't hear another guest the entire time.

The breakfast was disappointing, so I've dropped a star off the rating. The hot foods were not kept topped, nor were there enough small plates. It was busy so we did have to book in the night before which isn't really an issue but given the fact they knew how many people would be attending at a given time, it was disappointing that the service was not maintained. No orange juice either!

Great location, rooms are as you would expect but better upkeep of the building in general. Beware though if you get a meal deal, the reatraunt gets booked up all the time! This hotel is much better than the Whitehaven one!!

For access to the Northern Lakes when Keswick is overrun the Premier Inn in Cockermouth is perfect. Being relatively new it still has that new Premier Inn feel, the rooms are more than adequate for a short or long stay. Breakfast and Dinner can be found onsite, a petrol station, Starbucks and Gregg's are situated just over the road. Highly recommended.

Perfect hotel location just on the outskirts of the Lakes National Park with excellent road route to Keswick, Ambleside and of course, Cockermouth. Big Spar opposite the hotel at the service station. The hotel restaurant was nice too.. thoroughly recommend if you are looking to drive around the Lakes without paying a fortune for your accommodation.

WE COULDN'T GET A COFFEE IN THE BAR IN EVENING AS MACHINE WAS CLEANED AND TURNED OFF. BREAKFAST ITEMS WEREN'T AVAILABLE SO WE WEREN'T BEST PLEASED. TO TOP IT ALL WE HAD A BLOCKED TOILET. ON THE PLUS SIDE THE ROOMS WERE LOVELY AND THERE IS PLENTY OF FREE PARKING.
