Holiday Inn Sittingbourne, an IHG Hotel

This was a last minute reservation and I was pleased with my choice. Room was clean and the staff friendly. Reasonable choices for dinner and a full English breakfast in the morning.

There was no sign to the main parking lot at the back of the hotel. Apparently it's one side lane on the left before you reach the hotel. I had parked in the front which is less convenient for hotel reception access.

In all our stay was enjoyable and we had no issue with the one minor exception.



Due to dietary constraints a member of my party has to avoid caffeine and whilst this was catered for via a Starbucks concession machine during the day and evening, it was not during breakfast.



There was a choice of coffees available from the breakfast machine but all were caffeinated, so the member of my party who has to avoid caffeine had only the same sachet coffee as provided in the room.



As we did enjoy a leisurely breakfast meeting up with others in our group staying in the hotel, we had several coffees and a chat, but we did feel it off that one member could not enjoy the coffee of choice like the rest, especially knowing that the concession machine dispensed it but not the breakfast one.



We were asked by staff as we entered the breakfast area if we had dietary requirements. So clearly on the mind of the hotel, but the lack of decaffeinated options did (in a small way) mar our breakfast relaxation and experience. Not the end of the world but it would be good if either a full list of coffee options were available or the staff were instructed to provide access to the concession machine as an alternative for those with decaffeinated requirements.



I recently stayed at a competitor hotel for a wedding and their breakfast coffee machine had the full selection of both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee choices by way of comparing a key part of the stay.



Otherwise a good stay.

The room was nice and clean and bright with a big bathroom. The single beds are small but comfortable. The manager was really friendly and helpful (I think he was the manager). Breakfast was well varied. There are lots of little zones within the hotel for you to use. I would definitely return.

Paid extra for executive room so we had all benefits and extras and was really let down it was just, as they say it a superior room, it had a laptop safe that we couldn't use, while we were out for day room was cleaned upon our return they had taken our bath robes bits of paper etc that was there when we left was still there, big large curtains when opened behind one was a tiny window approx 70cm×60cm ,and behind other a brick wall no room service asking at reception if they could explain or show me difference between a standard room and superior, and executive rooms I was informed they were bigger, , nice breakfast though compliments to chef , stayed 2 nights first night a very large party/celebration was going on in large hall/room our room virtually above they say they're all soundproofed believe me not that good second night early morning, room backed onto a delivery bay staff car park ,entrance so we got that as well don't be fooled by pictures of rooms ,all in all most of staff were very pleasant, on there site it says no parking but they have a very large car park out the back with 2 electric charging points would I use again not sure

Lovely hotel with excellent physical ambience in lovely shared spaces decor and bedroom decor.

Comfortable bed, clean and attractive bedroom and bed. Excellent sleep!

Excellent breakfast with extra punch of mushrooms served to make it the fantastic English breakfast!

Please book this hotel if you are on special diet as they are compassionate and will honor you and have consideration for cancer patients or survivors on special diet.

Overall, Excellent stay with excellent physical properties and excellent compassionate helpful human factor all the way up to senior management! I will stay again!!

Although Room was of good size there was only 1 small window in rear side wall resulting in room being quite dark. Bathroom had frosted glass walls with a glass door that didn't shut properly or lock. Couple of times when I overbalanced I fell through door as it did not have any resistance. As the room was dark we were unable to read the panel for lighting so first night we were in complete darkness making bathroom visits in early hours difficult. There were no leaflets to consult and reception did not warn us in advance. Insufficient hanging space for towels so often had to lay them over wet surfaces. Toilet set unusually low making it difficult for elderly people such as ourselves (70s) to use. Fan in bathroom was not working and when reported to maintenance who were standing at reception nothing further was heard and fan didn't work for duration of our stay. Bathroom mirror was very noisy when lit up so had to switch it off and therefore unable to use. One poor example of hygiene at breakfast when cups had run out the attendant grabbed a cup from bar, ran it under a tap and wiped with a tissue before handing to client.We would not want to stay in this hotel if all rooms are similar. We tried to switch but were informed that they were fully booked but it didn't seem that way from number of people and cars around. not sure we want to remain members of IHG!

Comfortable room but quite basic. Excellent shower and bathroom. Drinks in the bar were quite expensive but day staff were very scarce. Meeting rooms were good but buffet foods were below standard expected at the hotel.

Very clean and spacious. Want to make a special mention to the new girl and the lady that was training her. Had a few drinks with my partner and they mad us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend 👌
