Stayed here a few months back for a weekend getaway - could not have been more pleased! The rooms were fairly basic but very clean - with a fabulous view of the park and a really lovely shower and bathroom. My boyfriend had a massage and loved it - the aromatherapy is a great touch. On our final night we sat down at the ornate bar and had a lovely final evening drinking up the atmosphere. Finally, we could not have had a more pleasant welcome from Mily and Sabina. Throughout the duration of our stay they were always supremely pleasant and exceedingly helpful with their advice and recommendations. Could not recommend this hotel more!

Phenomenal hotel. Very nicely appointed hotel with great artwork and well maintained rooms. Friendly staff. Great location for exploring Cambridge. There is paid parking below the hotel which is also nice. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Cambridge.

Room and breakfast both wonderful. We booked in advance for the Saturday walking tour at 11am. Advised on the morning that it was 2pm which was a problem as we had a galley bookings. Disappointed so asked about paid tours for the next day. I was passed into concierge who said they would call with options - we had to go out. The phone call didn't come and we had to book elsewhere. I would have expected an email in advance to advise change to 2pm and the promised call to book a paid tour. We only had two days in Cambridge

I had my beautiful wedding at the arms - the staff was professional, and accommodating and the private venue space was just outstanding. The service was truly special - the hotel provides catering and drinks which makes the organization very straightforward. I would highly recommend the arms for a stay and for a wedding!

The terrace room is very large - try to get the corner room to have the L-shape balcony space which provides beautiful light, the bathtub with an unobstructed view, and the classic English design. I will be sure to be staying at the arms again ...

We had two rooms for two nights for my daughter's PhD graduation. The hotel was really nice but lets itself down a bit with lack of training for the staff. All the staff were very nice but they perhaps could be a little more attentive? eg you shouldn't have to wait 40 minutes for your poached egg at breakfast 😂.

If you need to sleep THIS IS NOT the hotel for you. Lots of loud music late into the night that makes it impossible to sleep (even week nights).
So loud I can hear the singing in the songs. 👀 midnight on a work night!
Lots of people up front but they can’t seem to do much without a manager (who is never at the desk). Undertrained.

Breakfast- do not come here if you want efficiency. The hostess does a terrible job at communicating with waitstaff.
Daniella raised her voice at me that we don’t have 2 breakfasts and we checked at the desk and we do. Scared to come to breakfast now and be embarrassed again.
Front desk said they fixed it 3 days ago but it still says 1???

Mary is a saving grace and it flows better when she is present.

Bar tender does well 🍹 .

The beds are very hard.

The housekeeper in the day is nice got me an extra down blanket and pillow. Housekeeper in evening is also very nice.
Bridgette is also very nice.

Heated floor in bathroom is wonderful. ⭐️

If you need ice 🧊 you must go to the bar?! Also, hostess (same type of hostess from morning) get upset if you go to the bar? Seems as if ice should be available easier.

All info in rooms is on the TV. Don’t bother looking in the room. Spa menu is not available anywhere.

Randomly the key cards deactivate. I’ve had to return to the desk at least 8 times during my visit.

Unimpressed overall

Location right in a centre which is great, walking distance to market Square, staff really friendly and amazing. Wonderful, fast, polite staff/service. Everyone is smiling and was very kind, one person caught my attention most, it was a security guy Peter really nice friendly bloke from Poland. He knows so much about Cambridge and its history I was stunned.
I'll definitely visit again when I come down to Cambridge next time.

My review is of University Arms Hotel as a party venue as recently had a Christmas do there and I'd genuinely say it was one of the best venues I've been to for a large party. Generally the dinner, drinks and entertainment was very well run. They were organised, timely, prompt, efficient. We had constant flow of drink and meals were on time. Job well done to the chef and waiting team. You do a good job you all
