A very comfortable and lavish stay. Definitely appreciated the air con during the warm weather. Not so much the underfloor heating in the ensuite bathroom (probably more appreciable in winter but still a pleasant feature). Loved the overhead shower too, even if I was almost too tall and the shower curtains were more like actual curtains (not waterproof at all?) The provided toiletries all smelled divine and the room even came with a coffee pod machine and tea! Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Good, up market hotel, with a great breakfast. I do question the need for underfloor heating in the bathroom that can't be turned off, competing against the air-con which also blow the wrong side of the blinds. We also had to get maintenance to show us the combination to switches that had to be activated to get the main lights on. Not intuitive, not explained & even the reception staff didn't know how to switch them on!

A really nice hotel and was looking forward to writing a 5* review - then they went and spoilt it. Stayed here for 2 nights for work (didn’t have dinner) and enjoyed it so much I booked the package to stay Friday night for dinner, champagne and breakfast. At 6pm on Friday night they rang me to say we needed to eat at 6.30 as they had “forgotten “ they had a party coming in - despite the fact I had booked while on the premises! After a “discussion “ they found us a table for 7.30 . Which turned out to be tucked away in a corner, while about 100 people and a jazz band had a party! We couldn’t get to the toilet and it was an hour and half between sitting down and being offered dessert! The champagne was actually cremant- which was very nice but when your name is Hotel du vin you expect to know the difference (and is probably a trading standard breach). So my relaxing Friday night was FUBAR and to add insult to injury I was given a bill for £400 for the night (should have been £255) as they added dinner and the “champagne “ to the bill!! I may well stay again if working in Cheltenham but will never book for dinner (though the food was good and if restaurant is not hosting a party I might eat here again). Such a shame!!!

Unfortunately we went in for after work cocktails and mocktails but had to leave as the lady behind the bar was clearly not orally there and had not had the proper training to make these drinks. She even had to go and get hp to use a corkscrew further previous customers. Not good for the hotel, but not the ladies fault.

Pretty worn and run down. Very musty nasty smell in the corridors. Bathrooms dirty and very dated with no walk in shower. Needs a lot of work I feel. On the upside the bed was very large and comfortable with nice bedding.

Attended a party so can't comment on the hotel rooms. The service in the day was great. At night it was bit lame. Food was mediocre. Drinks very expensive.

Lovely room, v comfortable, loads of really hot water, great toiletries. Restaurant expensive and ok. Admin to check in diabolical (but nice)

We didn't stay but had a family meal on Christmas Eve.The staff were excellent and the food scrumptious
