This is an amazing venue, the spa is fantastic, the therapist super professional and high quality pampering experience. The lunch was also delicious. Service in both areas a little slow and sadly there seemed to be a wasps nest near the restaurant which meant we had lunch interspersed with removing wasps, and I mean a lot of them, from the dining room. Not the venue’s fault directly but did detract from the overall experience a little, especially as it was not a new issue for the venue. But overall great experience and I will be back, just maybe in winter when no wasp challenge! 😀

Had a great stay.
Grounds + Spa were breathtaking. Very friendly and forthcoming staff.
No hidden fees for me (as was remarked by some 1 point reviewers).

Why not 5 stars:
The rooms. They are spacious, and well equipped, but whoever was responsible for the furnishing, big question mark on their taste... Also walls were a little bit thin, could hear a baby cry at multiple points throughout the night :(
Also I would recommend going outside for food. There are so many great choices in Cheltenham.

Overall, Super good choice for weekend away, and would defo come back again!

Spa - v good; 2 large indoor / outdoor heated pools, with good “ forestry” views. Massage is OK.

Grounds - v beautiful

Common areas - v good

Rooms - they’re OK , a bit outdated

Negatives - whole hotel stop serving food at 9pm which is useless arriving late.

Breakfast - comes with continental breakfast have to pay for eggs

Thank you to everyone at Cowley Manor for a lovely day spa package, celebrating our wedding anniversary. Beautiful grounds, fantastic spa, great food and service. Special thank you, to Oz and Nadia, for the superb spa treatment. We will be returning soon.

Slight glitch on booking in as our Expedia booking hadn't transferred onto their system. All sorted, however makes one wonder what would have happened if the hotel was full. Free upgrade to a "Great" room large and contemporary, needing a little TLC here and there. Also TV reception intermittent. The dining room is good and food and service very good we found. The Spa is one of a few I've visited with an out door heated warm pool. The indoor is a large pool with steam and sauna room. The gym is well equipped and quiet. There are limited loungers around the indoor pool which caused a few awkward moments when guests removed others towel and robes. The facial my wife had with Tabitha was excellent she said and worth the money. The grounds are very pleasant for a post breakfast walk. We found the inclusive continental breakfast good standard and plentiful. Just remember to ask for a bowl. All in all a good stay and things will no doubt improve as we were told on leaving that the Manor closes for a total refurb early next year.

One of the best, if not the best, afternoon teas I've had! The desserts were absolutely impeccable - some very well thought out flavors. A highlight for me was the pine infused marshmallow fluff on one of the desserts. Can't fault anything apart from the bread, which was slightly dry, would have been nice to have it fresh. The service was wonderful, very attentive servers, loved the complimentary champagne.

We wandered the grounds of the manor and were so pleased with the option to borrow wellies and umbrellas, such a great touch!

Overall, a perfect experience! Will definitely be returning.

Excellent wedding venue allowing exclusive hire of all c.31 rooms, dining up to 100 guests and has a church on site (capacity 80). The grounds are stunning and many of our guests commented that the food was the best wedding fare they'd ever had! Emma, the dedicated wedding planner / point of contact was fantastic and took all the stress out of organisation. All the staff are delightful and very helpful.

The room was clean and spacious and the staff helpful. However. We felt it was poor value for money compared to, say, Woodbury Golf and Country Club in Devon. Paying extra for a cooked breakfast seemed a ridiculous saving on the hotel's part...really? The continental breakfast was only adequate. This seemed ,to us, to be an unnecessary economy and thus, poor value for money.
