The Harlow Hotel By Accor

Just stayed here - dreaded it due to the reviews! However, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The rooms were clean, even checked all the sheets as others complained. Air con was good, kept the room cool despite the 30 degree heat. The check was easy, bar staff were really friendly, no issues sleeping, very quiet at night. Breakfast was luke warm but edible I wouldn't rush here to stay again, but it was overall a decent night's stay.

Arrived to Harlow for the first time & got this avocado salad in Fireaway was so good. Onelove Arezu 💜 but everything changed when I went to bed to sleep one of the nights as I was woken at 12:56am & it scared me as someone tried enter my room. The next mornin I had to tell the receptionist what happened & the manager decided to reimburse half my money back & tried move me to a different room. I said no as I didn't feel safe so they got me a taxi & I had to book in another hotel due to the error their agency worker did to me. I cannot recommend this hotel as it was odd that they didn't tell him I was in the room & felt unsafe because what could of happened if I didn't wake up. So I will never go back & was grateful to the other hotel I changed too as they made sure I was alright.

Amazed at how updated this hotel is. The rooms where large, clean. Cheap! Allows pets at no extra cost. Perfect location with lots of parking. View of parked cars not ideal but we closed the curtains for privacy.

Basic hotel.
Rooms are good size but hard bed, heating wouldn't work.
The breakfast got progressively worse over my 2 week stay. Most days it was just burnt or overdone, but this morning, I came for breakfast at 8am (90mins before breakfast finished) and they only had beans and scrambled egg (it's powdered and was sitting in it's own juices)
The bar is also awful.
The food is expensive but you get large portions, which is great.
You just have to wait 20 minutes for someone who works in the bath to actually be there. Also night 30 minutes before closing the person working the bar literally cleaned around me as I was the only one in. I asked if I should go and they said "yes, some of us have homes to go to".

Room was clean enough but towels were dirty. When we came to check in staff didn’t acknowledge us and took 5-10 mins of us waiting at the desk right in front of them for them to even book us in! Went to have a drink in the bar in the evening, bar staff were “on break” at half 9 so we waited half a hour to have a drink, only waited because the football was on.

Room was clean, bed comfortable lovely clean and fresh bed linen.
Some places little shabby but could see they are in process of renovations.
Value for money and met our needs.

The Harlow Hotel took us in after our flight was cancelled and there were a lot of stressed and tired people coming to the hotel late. They had short staff when we arrived but the customer service and staff on board were absolutely fantastic. The chef catered for two large groups after 9pm with only 3 wait staff on and the food was good quality and freshly cooked. The room was a bit cold as the heaters are old but we got a radiator provided. Rooms were clean and orderly.

Have stayed here a few times now and staff are always so lovely and helpful. Nothing is any trouble and reception staff are so friendly. One suggestion is they need a bin for dog waste, we always stay with our pooch and always clean up afterwards having to hand to staff each time which is not nice for anyone, especially anyone checking in. Have noticed there are families residing there which is no bother but they do loiter. Another suggestion would be to have a smoking area or cigarette bin as guests stand by the front door smoking and throwing the buts on thr floor. Otherwise very happy with our stay.
