We couldn't fault our stay at winckley square hotel, great communication from chloe before we got there, and the staff on arrival were very welcoming. They had kindly upgraded our room as well, which was a real bonus, the room was spotless and there was plenty of tea and coffee at hand, the mini bar was well stocked also, I can't say a bad word really, I'm sure we'll be back and I will recommend to family and friends, the price was also very reasonable.

Slept in the "Lodge" on the sofa bed. Room is very well decorated and I really liked bathrooms. Unfortunately the room was too hot and opening the window leads to the extractor fan pumping noise and kitchen smells into the room. The sofa bed not too comfortable and could see the light from the hall through the cracks in the door. This is a nice place to stay but I didn't sleep well so would avoid that room and the sofa bed.

I'm still staying here but found some time to write a review and didn't want to forget to as this hotel is amazing.
Even the introduction and check-in email feom Ross was great. I was lucky enough to be allowed to check-in nearly 3 hours early at no extra cost plus I was upgraded to a better room and it's honestly the best room I have stayed in and well below the cost of others not even close to the standard. The decor is fantastic and super clean. Chloe on reception was great with welcoming me and explaining things. Do yourself a favour and stay here if you're in Preston. You'll definitely feel you've picked a winner.

We stayed for one night on a Saturday. Check in easy and stress free. Great location to the town centre, everything within walking distance, with a close car park (£10 for 24 hrs)
We stayed in ‘The Study’ very clean and tidy, nice sized bathroom.
Bed was nice and comfy. The room overall is quite small and very warm, but we just opened the windows. The only thing I would say is a bit of a pain is there is no full length mirror, and not much room at the small bedroom mirror when getting ready. There is also only plug sockets on one side of the bed.
Overall we would definitely stay again, we had a lovely stay!

We stayed for a single night and overall quite liked it. The bed was comfortable and the location is very central. I'd take the 5 stars category on Google with a grain of salt though, but if you are looking for something quiet and still central, you won't be disappointed.

Why not 5 stars? This hotel is not suited for business travelers as the WiFi speed is poor and there are no chairs or desks at all in the room we had. I needed to finish up on some work and basically had to sit on the bed with my notebook on my lap and wait for minutes for the files to download and upload (WiFi Speed was around 4 MBit/s). Not really a 5 stars experience. The room also had a small kitchen, but again you don't have any chairs or table, so I guess you'll be eating anything you make in bed. Lastly, the check-in experience was contactless and despite well described, walking through the middle of dinner service in a busy restaurant with lots of luggage hardly feels like a 5 stars hotel experience.

Overall, recommended for short stays if the price is right and you don't need to get any work done.

Not like the picture.
Fixtures and fittings lovely, but Study room too tiny to accommodate them all. You can cook or microwave a meal but no chair to sit on, just the end of the bed. Not the 5 star experience we were led to expect.
Good access to city centre.

The room was very clean and well decorated. Very cool! Good location. They kindly left a balloon when I mentioned we were celebrating! We struggled to get in so had to wait in the rain - I suspect they may be currently lower on staff across the 2 properties. The free breakfast was a mini continental and of good quality. There were a few items missing from the room but they got on the case straight away. The mini kitchen was great but be mindful that this room is on the small side and there is nowhere to sit.

It was enjoyable. We had the secret garden Room for a one night romantic getaway (dropped the kids off somewhere along the way). I won't give it away with photos...but if you are expecting there to be a real life garden or a courtyard it's not that. The only tiny things very slightly negative are the £10 parking off-site and if you are in this room and are very tall it might become annoying after more than one night. I also really wish reception hadn't shouted out what the charge for the room was when we were checking in as better half had no clue about the charge or that it was a secret room. Location is great for town centre restaurants until 263 re opens and it is extremely quiet at night time but walkable back if weather good. Let's hope Winckley Square Hotel leads the way and we get a 5 star hotel in Preston soon. We will be back and so will at least 3 of our friends who have booked already!
