The first night of our honeymoon was here, very welcoming, helpful, great food, and they gave us a lovely room, etc. really great place, and I'd say nicer than our 5-star hotel in Madeira. Service is key and they know it.

We spent our wedding night at Kings Arms Hotel, after our wedding at Kings Chapel. We have since returned for our anniversary and it was just as amazing. The staff are fantastic, everything little detail is always dealt with with effortless ease. The room was super cosy, had all the things we could possibly need and the breakfast was delicious!

We had dinner at the Wyvern restaurant Saturday night and it was amazing. Service was top-notch and the food was superb. Highly recommend the king prawns and the scallops. Lovely atmosphere in a cozy setting!

Went for a midweek lunch with family for a special occasion. Very disappointed. Service was so slow and unapologetic. Food didn't arrive despite ordering before other tables with food. When starters finally came, key ingredients advertised on the menu were missing. My son was crying the food took so long. Waiting staff were totally clueless. Massively regret choosing to go here given the excellent choice in the area. Gave up on mains after an hour of waiting. Avoid.

We were told we couldn't use restaurant as a private function was taking place, but when we went in to bar, they were serving food to some people. No pre warning of this. No car parking due to wedding. No pre warning of this. Had to walk our breakfast from one building to another, outside as dining room full. Staff were not the most helpful. Considering we paid £150 for 1 night I would have expected better.

Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly and welcoming, sat by the gorgeous huge fire drinking fizz, perfect x
Only setback we needed an extra heater as the room wasn't very warm
