Guinness Extra Cold on tap and Beck's. Lovely and cold and we had 2 baguettes. Food was filling and tasty, service was great and the beer garden was beautiful in the shade...🚀

We stayed overnight in a double room as part of a short bit of bicycle touring. Cycle racks were available. The staff were uncommonly helpful, providing unprompted assistance when one of us took ill, arranging for dinner to be moved from the dining room to the bedroom as well as other offers for care. Staff in all positions were courteous and thoughtful. The bed was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a good selection of pillows. Good shower facilities, with plenty of pressure, though in-room sink had an occasionally annoying drip. Breakfast was complete and satisfying, just a few extras short of exemplary. Good WiFi.

The dinner menu was somewhat strangely varied, but our samplings certainly worked. I would be happy to return to try additional offerings, especially since they provide an uncommon array of dessert choices!

The only thing I really found wanting was the TV/remote situation, which wasn't fully operational and a bit behind the times.

Great level of food in a fantastic little spot in the Chilterns.

Got turned away from a few other pubs without a booking which was good because we found this place which was much better. If you like a walk, the hills around here are beautiful.

Visited for a friends birthday and we were well looked after. The chef rustled up 2 vegan options for us which were incredible. All the staff were super friendly and welcoming

Stayed beginning of September as in walking distance of Chilton valley vineyard for tour. Very warm welcome by owner and young lady, she kindly rang for taxi as raining again (was dry for a great walk back through the woods & fields 1mile) lovely lunch, room very clean and comfy, super dinner , cod on curried lentils very tasty, deserts are yummy too, cooked breakfast very tasty and generous portion ,home made shortbread in room yum . Would highly recommend

Lovely pub, lovely owners, and lovely location. The food is exceptional too. And they cater for gluten allergies like few places we’ve been to. Most dishes are made with allergies in mind. We had GF croquettes and even GF sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend.

Excellent pub and restaurant, in prime position for splendid walks in the Chilterns followed by a proper hikers meal. Good food, good service and a roaring fire today, after an 8 mile walk - perfect.

A lovely relaxing and cosy pub. Plenty of choice on the menu. We had a tasty meal and shared a desert. A lovely place to stop on the Chiltern Way walk
