Restaurant served great dinner: the salmon and crayfish salad was absolutely delicious. Nice setting with great outdoor patio and garden. The rooms are more dorm style, clean and basic. Really friendly staff at the bar/restaurant and reception.

We paid a similar price as you would for a Premier Inn or Travelodge. The rooms are of a similar good standard however you have the added benefits of being surrounded by beautiful grounds, access to the adjacent stunning historic house and museum as well as a breakfast included. I would highly recommend staying here.

Went to have a dinner birthday for my mum and our experience for fine dining was not much that fine. I've been to other restaurants with fine dining services however this does not seem to go with it. Food was okay but served us a little cold and the table was not prepared well...

Where do I even begin with Salomons Estate? The most beautiful wedding venue with stunning grounds, great food and perfect entertainment spaces! From the moment we first contacted them to the days after our wedding the events team (Erin and Fiona in particular) were incredible - they paid attention to every small detail and exceeded every expectation we had for our big day. We couldn’t recommend them more!

Old Country House Hotel. Ensure you stay in the main building as the outside rooms are very basic and feel like student accommodation. Grounds and setting beautiful. Service good and friendly staff.

Lovely grounds, dreadful rooms. No hot water for us and noisy heating banging in the middle of the night. We eventually got some money back but it took two goes to get it right. Sorry but I would not advise staying (and it's 3 times the price of premier inns).
Be careful if you book a family room, you need to be a gymnast to get into bed

Came here for breakfast as I was considering it as a wedding venue. Completely disappointed with the service and rudeness of the staff (reminding me twice that I needed to ask for the bill whilst we were trying to relax in the dining room). The breakfast is soggy and cold with very little choice and set up like a work conference rather than a welcoming hotel. I would never want my wedding guests to experience that! Maybe if I had visited with them knowing I was a potential wedding customer then I would have been treated differently but I am glad I went to test the real service before choosing this as a venue! Definitely taking my wedding elsewhere.

My wife and I got married here in October 2022.
This venue was simply outstanding!

The food was amazing, and there was plenty of it. Great value for money as well.
The coordinators on the day and in the run up were super helpful and made everything run smoothly. We were as relaxed as we possibly could have been on the day and that was thanks to the team.
The grounds are lovely and made for some great photos. Bar service was great on the day as well and the guests were kept happy all day.

Would highly recommend!
