Had a one night stay mid-week, double room with breakfast included. The hotel is right one the front, so the beach is a stones throw away.
Friendly reception staff checked us in quick and easy.
Room was very clean and the air-con was a god send. Little mini fridge, iron & ironing board, safe and tea and coffee. Bed was very comfortable.
Buffet breakfast was great and the host Annie was very friendly and we had a little joke which made my day.

Love it here but a few hit and misses, only being picky though for example the shampoo dispenser was broken but just took the bottle out/off still could use so depends how picky you want to be. A bigger TV would have been nice but again personal preference. Still would recommend to people as a lovely stay.

We stayed and ate at the Hythe Imperial. The reasons for the review are:

1. Our rooms were directly beside an AC unit which was consistently loud thoroughout the night, making it difficult to get a peaceful night's sleep.
2. The fan in the room, (despite having been turned off), roared back to life at 6am, further exacerbating our restless night.
3. There were no tissues or shampoo in the rooms, (I would have expected these as a given, especially for a 4-star hotel).
4. We ordered a starter of sourdough at the restaurant (£4 per portion) which turned out to be 2 slices of very stale bread with oil on the side. The bread was clearly leftover from the breakfast buffet, which we validated the next morning at breakfast where the same bread was served. At £4 for two slices, that makes for some very expensive stale bread.
5. The service in general was painstakingly slow and poor. At the end of our meal a single espresso took 15 minutes to arrive. Our waiter had his phone on him whilst serving, (it rang while he was taking our order). Again, after having worked in the service industry in the past, I'd have thought it a given that staff weren't allowed their phones on them, it's disruptive and makes for a bad impression.
6. We mentioned these points to staff and they weren't overly accommodating or caring.

Family room was nice, very comfortable, view of the sea was fantastic. Food was overpriced, not good enough to justify the high prices. Swimming pool has lots of black mould around the edges. At afternoon tea was told the sausage rolls were vegetarian, ate half of it, only to be told later it was a mistake and actually meat. No apology from the manager (french sounding, tall man with psoriasis on face).

Happy enough staying here.. felt safe and relaxed as a lone traveler for work. Bed was big and comfortable too and I could hear the sea as I fell asleep 🌊 😊 😴

Some of the furnishings a bit worn and need of an update but expected this with the size and age of the place. Light on magnified mirror in bathroom didn’t work and I wasn’t given any details on breakfast or evening meal when I arrived and when I asked about breakfast in the morning was told it would be over £17 so walked to the local high street and found a delicious breakfast for less than £5!! Test fire alarm when of three times in a row in the morning which I wasn’t warned about so found quite stressful 🚨 ‼️

Highly recommended hotel in a great location.

Great facilities including bar, dining, spa and gym all of which are of a good standard.

Slight disappointment was the bar prices for soft drinks. A pint of coke was £5.45, not much more for a pint of beer...

Overall positive was the friendly staff, amazing customer service and all of the available to help.

Parking facilities also on site and lots to do around the area

Loved it!! Beautiful hotel, stayed for 2 nights in a lovely room with stunning views of the sea. Staff were friendly and helpful, the pool was just the right temperature and was maintained well. Food was very nice, a little on the expensive side but totally understandable as running costs in a place like this must be very expensive. I Would definitely return again, and look forward to my next stay.
