Great hotel in a wonderful location near everything you need to visit when in Canterbury. The room was very comfortable with good facilities and the staff very friendly. The price was good, my only gripe is I'm not a fan of continental breakfast.

What a lovely hotel (dating back to 1847). It even has a free carpark. So easy to walk into Central Canterbury. We had a most enjoyable stay. 😊

Lovely place to stay, room was nice and comfortable and staff were excellent...the shower wasn't the best....but they said they are replacing the boiler/system. If definitely stay again.... excellent location 👏🏻

A huge regret paying the price to stay in an outbuilding!!!
We booked a family room at £160 for one night. We knew that it’s Jubilee weekend and we were fully aware that the hotel is a historical building. However, we were so shocked when we were directed to our room which was an outbuilding of the hotel, right next to the gate, busy road and cars by other guests. This is not a proper hotel room that any guest would expect at this price. I was not able to sleep the entire night as I didn’t feel safe in an outbuilding like this. The breakfast was not great either. What a disappointment to offer continental breakfast only.

Not to impressed to be honest. Never met the host or hostess, just a few youngsters on the reception desk and serving breakfast in the mornings. The place was very tired and needed a modernisation. Breakfast was adequate. Asked for a double room and got two singles pushed together which in itself was okay but the quilt cover was to small for the bed and the quilt was to small for the cover! So only about two thirds of the bed covered. The shower was rubbish. At one time the water was literally just dropping out of the head onto me. Not good. Don't think the bathroom and toilet was cleaned for the whole three nights were there. Upside was good sized car park and gardens. I won't be going back.

Central to Canterbury (10min walk to Cathedral) with free parking this is a little Gem of a Hotel.

The Rooms were upgraded for us and were comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary toiletries a nice bonus.

The staff were excellent and always helpful.
The breakfast was continental and with plenty of choice.

Only 5 minutes walk into town. Onsite parking. The rooms were a bit tired but clean and warm and quiet apart from some music from downstairs in our room above reception but didn't go on late or start early. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. I would happily go back.

Stayed last night with two girlfriends for a mini Xmas break and shopping, was offered a room inside the hotel but liked the look of a separate annex that was across the car park, was absolutely perfect large king size bed and two proper single beds, sofa and T.V, coffee making facilities with cookies. Bathroom was a lovely size with separate shower and corner bath with T.V (didn’t try bath or TV in there) but what a special treat for someone… manager was really friendly and breakfast this morning was continental style served by a lovely young lady and man, overall had a great stay and would be very happy to return, thank you
