We arrived about an hour and a half before check-in. The staff were kind enough to offer a complimentary drink while we waited and assured us that they would try and have our rooms ready early, if possible. We were told to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, but when we arrived it was closed for a private event. After waiting, one of our rooms was not ready at 3 - we asked when they would be ready at 3:20, and then again at 3:40. Both times we were told they would be ready soon. In reality, they were not ready until after 4:30. In the meantime, we watched multiple guests arrive after us be checked in immediately without receiving any updates. Very frustrating! The manager did offer us a discount on that room for our first night. The rooms were fine - typical accommodations, plus air conditioning.
The grounds are beautiful. The surrounding park is dog- and kid-friendly. It was very difficult to find transportation out of the area with luggage. The nearest underground station is a mile away and Uber essentially does not run in the area. The hotel staff will call a cab upon request, however.

I am sorry it has taken a while to write this review, I have been away a lot. The stay in April was for my wife's birthday, and you made it very special for her as well as the rest of the family. All the staff, especially Honor, were amazing, and I am looking forward to visiting again soon. Even though dogs were not allowed in the dining room, you made a big effort to make us all feel very welcome in another room, making the whole experience special.
Also, for those who like to walk, the grounds are wonderful, but go further than the flower gardens and into the woods at the back. Hotel du Vin have great hotels, and this is probably the best aesthetically.
I have a good time in all your hotels, and this visit upheld the high standards of quality and service I have expected over the years.

Enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were lovely. The service was a bit odd at times. My colleagues struggled to get drinks after 9pm because the bar was closed that night. Besides that everything else was mostly good. The rooms have names not numbers. They've got lovely greens on site, good for a walk or morning run.

Went for late afternoon drinks (3:30pm). The restaurant terrace was empty but was told we couldn’t sit in there due to them preparing for dinner service, so was sat in the lobby bar. No one arrived after us for the entire duration of our drinks so I still don’t understand why we couldn’t have sat in there.
I ordered a signature gin and tonic which was supposed to come with elderflower tonic, raspberry and orange. I made a point of highlighting this to the waitress when I ordered. However, when the drink came it was just the gin measure, standard tonic and a slice of lemon. Not as described in the menu.

My boyfriend and I have visited the hotel a couple of times now, our room was beautiful. On the second visit I had foolishly booked the wrong dates for our room. Rita was wonderful and straight away saved us from panicking as she went out of her way to call the booking agent and help us change the date. Saving us time, money and stress! We felt very looked after, and will most definitely be returning.

We loved our treat away for the night, did get fed up when asked for £12 ( jumped on in fact) to pay first when we arrived, and yes it did tick me off, kinda Cheap really...no offence intended, apart from that, what a great luxury bed and pillows, also a peaceful idyllic setting....coffee machine in the room, no clue how that worked....no mini bar....

This is the second time I’ve come for a late lunch with a friend to the lounge bar, and the second time our food took too long to arrive and was lukewarm when served.

I ordered the pesto chicken, it arrived as a baguette - which was fine, but there was no mention of bread in the meal description.

My friend had to send her meal back as it wasn’t cooked properly, and when it arrived the second time, it was still lukewarm.

When we flagged this to 2 waitresses, there was no initiative to resolve. One even asked if we ate the food! Only George, working in the bar/lounge area, had good customer service skills and offered us a discount on the bill.

Throughout our meal, no one asked at any point if everything was ok with our food. There was only one other table taken in the lounge area, so it wasn’t even busy.

Avoid eating here. You get better customer service in Nando’s!
