Absolutely wonderful stay at the lodge! Hosts could not be more attentive and absolutely beautiful location. Have recommended to all family and friends- will certainly be visiting again!!

If you want to be somewhere rural, right by Bassenthwaite lake, surrounded by nature and you can see mountains from the loo.... this is PERFECT.

We've never had such a nice stay in a guesthouse. Tim and Karen make you feel at home from the first moment and are very friendly and interested. It is beautifully situated with great views and we had a very nice room with a fantastic view of the mountains. The breakfast is definitely the best we had in the UK. Tim and Karen know how to create a nice atmosphere and what hospitality means. They gave the best recommendations, so we discovered and experienced very nice things. We have felt very welcome. We will definitely come back here and recommend this guesthouse 100%.

Stayed here at Lakeside country guest house a couple of times. Both times fantastic. Breakfast amazing, rooms very comfy, clean and decorated tastefully. Tim and Karen are lovely hosts and make you feel very welcome.
The location is ideal for walking and exploring the north of the Lakes.
Will most definitely be visiting again.

Just returned from several days stay with Tim and Karen here in one of their rooms in their guest house and I have to say it was Superb! Both Tim and Karen are genuinely lovely and couldn’t do more for us as hosts, and there were plenty of lovely little touches along the stay. Their breakfast menu is wonderfully extensive with both ‘starters’ and ‘mains’ if you want them and it’s all freshly cooked and delicious and caters for all tastes including vegetarians and vegans alike if you need. The beds are very comfy, I usually struggle on a ‘foreign’ bed but didn’t even though we stayed for almost a week. They were even accommodating when we had mixed up our dates! They’re right by Bassenthwaite lake and are well placed to access the rest of the Lakes and all the walks around them.
I would highly recommend staying at any of Karen and Tim’s establishments, it’s better than home from home! We will certainly recommend them to friends and family and return when we can. Absolutely outstanding.

Couldn’t fault it. Tim & Karen are some of the most fantastic, attentive and kind people I’ve ever had the pleasure to stay with. I made a reservation very last minute (the same day) and they were nothing but accommodating. They recommended walking routes and were even kind enough to allow me to borrow their wild swimming gear so I could take a dip in Bassenthwaite - lovely!

I stayed in cosy room 5, which was the perfect size for me. Beautiful view too. The bathroom is just across the hall and is completely private with a separate key - beautiful deep bath too. There’s a basin in the bedroom also.

Also, the vegan breakfast is the best i’ve had ever!

Best B&B we have ever stayed in! The hosts were amazing so it was the setting. Room was very spacious and comfortable with a fantastic view. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!! This is a real gem and we will be returning again and again!!

A charming guest house with delightful hosts. I went for a two night stay with my friend and we had a beautiful twin room with large windows overlooking the lake. Everything was lovely and clean and tastefully decorated. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Great value for money. The breakfast was delicious with locally sourced produce. Lots of choice for every taste and dietary requirement. I had the full English on the first day and tried the pancakes the following day. Everything was perfectly cooked. The setting was very peaceful with no road noise. The beds were comfy so we got a great nights sleep after our day out walking in the lakes. I would highly recommend this guesthouse, just perfect :-)

Gorgeous hotel, the room was with a gorgeous view of the hills and the breakfast was the best I have ever had. Karen and Tim were brilliant hosts, we will definitely be going back....
