A right little gem, lovely food, great beer, lovely staff. I normally would have booked premier Inn but they tripled their price, so I came here and wow so glad I did, friendly conversation with the lovely locals, my room has a single bed which I haven't slept in since I was a lot younger but is very comfortable and the room is very clean and has all I need for the night. I will be returning here instead of the Premier Inn because of the aforementioned things, it's just better here and more in sync with the local area.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay and loved the inn. Everyone was kind and helpful - starting with Sam, who greeted us warmly and checked us in. The breakfast each morning was delicious, as was dinner. The pub side was packed with people and it is obviously a much loved community gathering place. Our room was quiet and comfortable and the tub huge!
The town is quaint and beautiful, and we found lots to do. We rode the Bluebell Steam Railway nearby and travelled to the stunning Seven Sisters Sea cliffs. We even saw one of the famous white horses on a hill near the cliffs! We would love to come back again! Thank you all for a very pleasant stay!

I’m writing this review for no other reason but to warn people. The “manager” at this place , Rob, attitude and customer service skills is absolutely disgusting.
From the way he was talking to his staff to how he deals with customers (including me) I’m not quite sure how this man works in hospitality???
Never met a man so entitled.
Have been here previously and always a good experience and food always nice, shame it worked out the way it did…

Went for lunch today and opted for the spaghetti bolognese, tasted bland and boring with no flavour whatsoever, tap water had more flavour and taste. Passed on as constructive criticism with no response at all. My son opted for the vegan burger which was okay but served with coleslaw made with mayo!

Walls in the rooms are a little thin.
We could hear the guy next door snoring 😴
Lovely staff and great service.
Ham sandwiches and breakfast were really nice 😋

Didn't use a room so no rating there. 😃 Good menu that was inexpensive. Service was a bit slow but it was lunchtime at a popular pub! 😂
Recommended. 😃
