The Fisherman's Haunt, Christchurch

We would like to say a big thank you to Lizzie and the team for hosting our wedding reception. The venue and food were excellent and enjoyed by all. We had a great day.
My Auntie and Uncle stayed the night before the wedding and said the room was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent - the best steak my Uncle had ever had.
We stayed for our wedding night and agree that the rooms are large, clean and comfortable.

Nearly excellent. Room 1 is dog-friendly but in the middle of the car park so care needed. Lovely fresh decor but unable to open enough windows so very stuffy on our visit. NO E.V. CHARGING in spite of initially being informed otherwise. Pleasant bar area with limited food menu (go to the Lamb Inn!) but good breakfast with lovely staff.

Friendly pub located just outside Christchurch. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Rooms well presented with walk in shower and in a separate building from the pub. Little touches like a fan for the warm weather and a half bottle of champagne for my wife's birthday were the kind of small touches that make a real impression. Breakfast had a good selection of both hot and cold options and was able to be take inside or out. Plenty of parking available and ideal for an overnighter if heading to or from the airport. Recommended.

The friendly atmosphere was easy to feel as we walked in. We only called in for Lunch on the spur of the moment as we were passing. We were shown to the table service side of the restaurant & given menus & drinks order taken. A large bottle of water was placed at our table & the drinks arrived, we ordered our starters which were very tasty indeed our mains were brought & again they were cooked to perfection all delivered with a pleasant smile & a friendly chat. The portions were plentiful & well priced it’s a shame we don’t live in the area otherwise we would certainly go for lunch there again.

Wow. This establishment far exceeded my expectations.
From the welcome afforded our 2 medium sized dogs to quality of the rooms I would not fault a thing. Great beer on draft and superb food is the icing on the cake.
This was a last minute booking as a stop-over; for us, it will now be a place worthwhile making a diversion for.

My wife my little dog and I had a lovely stay at the Fisherman's Haunt. Our room was lovely. Staff were great. Our breakfast was perfect and the meals we have were great. Ideally situated for what we wanted at a fair price.

We didn't stay here as we are locals but did pop in for a late lunch/early dinner. I had the steak and ale pie and my mum had the roast dinner. Both were lovely, especially the pie. Meat was tender and the mash potato was lovely. Excellent portions sizes. The restaurant was lovely and clean and our waitress was lovely, (tall, blonde and glasses). Only complaint is the miserable older chap behind the bar. Not a hello, thank you or goodbye!
I came to the bar and was waiting patiently for him to finish what he was doing (happily, it wasn't as if I was huffing and puffing!), then when he was ready to serve me he just stood in front of me and stared as if to say 'yeah what?'. Quite odd behaviour. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

A really lovely pub. Discovered by accident & what a find. Lovely location.

Great service, friendly staff, made to feel really welcome, as we hadn't booked Sunday lunch.

Really yummy food, great menu & good size portions, offered extras. Will definitely return.
