I would give this place 5 stars as a hotel, and also 5 stars as a pub. The food was great and reasonably priced. The breakfast was top class and worth getting out of bed for, even after a long day of sightseeing! Will definitely come back!

Fantastic! We just spent two nights here and the staff were so nice, couldn't do enough and we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was lovely and the pub, although a bit quiet, had a nice selection of beers, real ales and cider. Dinner was also nice. If the bathrooms were a bit nicer, they were in no way bad, but a bit more modern, I would happily give 5 stars for everything. Thanks for a great stay and we would definitely stay again. 👌

We stayed for a night and the overall experience was great. The Inn has a lovely bar and restaurant offering variety of drinks and food, and breakfast is included with your stay. They have limited parking space, however there are ample parking spaces on the street. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and the amenities. Breakfast next morning was a delight and can say one of the best breakfast so far!!!!

Stayed for 2 nights. Would highly recommend!

- Location: in a beautiful area near a forest, close to a bus stop but far away away enough from main road to be distracted by noise. Very tranquil even living on top of a pub, the locals in the pub were respectful to noise level.
- Rooms: spacious, seems to have been refurbished recently, everything except bathroom felt new. Nice neutral colour scheme, good size double bed. The bedding was arranged really well with lots of extra layers and blankets available, not just a single sheet.
- Bathroom surfaces seemed abit old or peeling through the wood. Otherwise nice size. Lots of shower essentials provided like shower cap and mini bottles. Thoughtful preparation.
- Pub: much bigger than pictures shows. There is a separate dining area for hotel guests which is smart approach, can eat meals in peace at your own table.
- Hygiene: overall satisfactory. However cleaning staff should put extra attention to disinfecting the remote, it was sticky, carpet, and hidden areas like under bed and corners. For example there was an old condom left behind on one corner. Easy to miss if you rush cleaning.
- Food: breakfast was fantastic, cooked fresh when you order. Not buffet style but you can request extra dishes. Best breakfast service! The pub menu also has extensive options for lunch and dinner. Plus plenty of vegan options.
- Staff: The manager that works in the mornings (has an epic beard) was kind and friendly.

Final verdict:
☆ Staff service: 5/5
☆ Food: 5/5
☆ Hygiene: 3/5
☆ Facilities: 4/5
☆ Price: ££. Affordable

We visited the pub for drinks and snacks. The loaded chips were easily the best we've ever had, and they were just as good at a second visit. Very pleasant sitting outside when the weather was better. Easy parking on the road, when it can be difficult at the two similar pubs/hotels locally.

Went last night for meal with friends. Bar area busy and adjacent restaurant area being used for live music which was very good. We were taken to a table in the nice function room adjacent to a large tabled garden area. Staff were excellent in every respect and food was perfect.

Could have been really good… We went on a Sunday for a birthday celebration. The roast was really nice, but we had to ask for everything - there was barely any gravy, so asked for more and he brought a tiny dish (there were 10 of us all having roast). Had to ask for more. Same with the horseradish, brought one tiny ramekin and had to ask for more. The service was adequate - they just didn’t come by often at all. Had to go to the bar for drinks, never checked to see how the food was and were slow when we made any requests. It’s all a shame because I would have gone back for the food.

We stayed at the Crown Inn for 4 nights over Christmas while visiting our daughter in Orpington. The room was lovely with a view over the town green and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The included breakfasts were great, and the supper we had there was lovely as well.
