My husband and I were gifted a two night stay at the Grosvenor as a wedding present from our parents. It was a complete surprise. When we got to the front desk we were greeted by Kaitlyn who congratulated us and gave us our room details. The hotel was absolutely stunning, the staff were lovely, the food was delicious. We would love to return in the future. Thank you to everyone who looked after us.

The Chester Grosvenor is truly stunning.
It's a very traditional English Hotel, almost everything is original, even down to the slightly wobbly floors!

This hotel is about luxury and indulgence, somewhere to relax and enjoy the best food and drink but still be in the city centre. Luxury comes at a significant Including price so be warned!

The food in the Brasserie is worth its own mention, we had one of the best meals we've ever had, truly delicious steak.

Thanks to all the staff at the Chester Grosvenor who made our stay for our 10th Anniversary so perfect.

What a lovely experience today. Not having been for years, I thought I was taking my guests for a Fine Dining lunch only to be gently informed that I was at the wrong Grosvenor. However the charming receptionist checked with their restaurant and then escorted us across as availability was made. The restaurant service was excellent and despite my guests causing confusion with their meal choices, nothing was a problem. No e of this would have happened without ,on arrival, the wonderful porters who were wonderful in sorting out our car parking issues.
Thank you so much for making our visit so lovely today.

We booked last minute for our 30th wedding anniversary. Lovely welcome by the staff. The room was very spacious and had everything you need. The reception team had left a chocolate dessert with a ‘happy anniversary’ note - which was a lovely touch. There are extras in the room that you can purchase so ensure you read the card on what is complimentary. Breakfast was very busy. The pastries were delicious. We were given a large pot of tea and coffee with extra hot water. My husband was a bit disappointed with the cooked breakfast as the beans were cold and the sausage was tough but we didn’t complain as we could see the staff were doing all they could to get the food out. Good check out time of 11am. Lovely pleasant staff. I would stay again.

Me and a friend went for the weekend spa package, it was fantastic from start to finish. The girls in the spa are lovely especially Aoife the Irish lady. She is a credit to the spa. We then had a two course lunch and all the restraint staff are brilliant too. Brilliant staff all around

The gentlemen opening the doors and offering to take bags to the rooms was a very classy touch, great quality food and drink, comfy beds and ideal location for a city break. The doors were very thin though hand there was a lot of noise in our room.

Besides this, upon arrival, we had some serious issues with parking and received no reasonable resolution. In fact, quite the opposite, we were left in a tricky situation and potentially at a loss. Situation as follows...

- 'On site parking' was actually 'shopping centre next door' car parking.
- 'On site parking' was tightly packed and full to the brim car parking, with a 30 minute wait for a space to come available car parking.
- 'On site parking' eventually gave us a space which was unsuitable for my car, even though the hotel assured us that this particular make and model of (particularly wide) car would be fine, 'they park here all the time'...
- No refund, reasonable resolution or sniff of a gratuity or remediation was offered. 'The booking is non refundable', even though our primary reason we booked the hotel was for quality parking, which we were assured we would receive and in turn did not receive.
- Valet parking was advised as being unavailable until 24th December as 'access to the main entrance is blocked', yet on our departure, 2 customers jeeps were sat right in front of the hotel

Not fulfilling an agreement is bad.

Lying is worse.

Failing to even attempt to turn the situation around, meet obligations or offer remedy is completely unacceptable.

Our stay at the charming hotel was wonderful, the service was lovely and the original features were charming. However, we did notice that the rooms were a bit tired and in need of some maintenance, specifically loose tiles in the bathroom and a very loud air conditioning system. Despite these issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the location to be great. Wonderful breakfast and service at the brasserie. The highlight was the exceptional dinner at The Arkle!

The hotel is in a great position. The car park is a multi storey behind the hotel. Bit isn’t free and the hotel rear entrance isn’t clearly marked. It’s on level2A not 2 as described. The room was a disappointment , very tired and dated. Wallpaper was a massive floral design covering every wall. Not nice. Heating was provided by a air conditioning unit which was noisy all night. The bathroom was very old with an old shower curtain and old shower head which couldn’t be adjusted. Breakfast was basic porridge and pastries. Unless you wanted to pay £9.50 for full English. Which was very nice. Staff were nice and polite. But wouldn’t go there again for £234 for one night.
