Westmead Hotel

We held our wedding in July 2022. From start to finish the staff were fantastic, really informative about the process of booking the wedding package. The package was priced very competitively to other hotels in Birmingham with option to use their own partner DJ and decorator or source your own.
Once booked, Simon and Janine were fantastic in responding and accommodating any amends we needed. We made an evening of the food tasting which as my Husband and I are both vegan they accommodated with a fantastic menu. The food really was delicious. On the day our Master of ceremonies Katie took charge and helped us to ensure the day ran smoothly. Katie was fantastic, really reassuring and organised everyone so well. We decided to go with the hotels partner decorator Claire and we had a pastel colour scheme. The whole place was decorated beautifully. We had a standard package plus some extras that included a stocked sweet cart, wishing well postbox and giant light up LOVE letters. It all looked so beautiful and Claire did it all. Simon took the extra things we had brought like the placecards, favours and table games and had them laid our for us. There is a small garden area for photos which have turned out beautiful as well as a flower wall in the bar area that made a gorgeous background. During the wedding breakfast the food and drinks came it in great time, again our vegan option was fantastic and from our non-vegan guests the rest of the food was delicious too. No complaints at all. After the wedding breakfast the room was turned around for the reception which included laying out the light up dance floor and rearranging the tables for partying the night away. We also decided to go with the hotels partner DJ Paul who had called us beforehand for special requests first dance etc. Paul was excellent at reading the room and keeping the party going. We also had a last song request that he agreed to play before everyone started leaving - he timed it well and had everyone up. There was also a buffet for the reception which was again delicious and timed perfectly. All in all the whole day went so well and we can't thank them all enough for making our days so special and stress-free!

Westmead Hotel is situated about 10 minutes from the M42, 20 minutes from M5 and is an idea place for Wedding and birthday celebrations, and the Wake for funerals. Food is very good. They also have a lounge serving tea, Coffee etc. Cannot advise on the rooms as I have no need to use them.

Awful damp room freezing when we got there as old fashion heating staff not very friendly breakfast appalling expensive for what we had it was my partners Birthday Surprise but not nice at all we slept with clothes on so cold. Do not recommend this Hotel very tight with tea and biscuits could only give you one packet of biscuits dreadful.

The initial issue anyone will face is the location of the hotel, it takes about 30 minutes to get into Birmingham city centre. It is an isolated location which is sited just off the 40mph main road, though road noise is minimal once in the hotel. Service from staff is suitably adequate. The rooms though dated are clean, however my room had a humming noise perhaps that of a boiler switching on and off throughout the night, but I was too tired from travelling to complain and managed to sleep through it, though I'm sure light sleepers or those who find it hard to sleep will not be able to stay at the room allocated to me, I'm assuming the other rooms without the constant boiler noise are perfectly serviceable. Another important point to consider is that it this a wedding party venue and as such the noise from the party music continues up until midnight and anyone wanting to sleep prior to this will not be able to do so. Overall I would not stay here again but im sure it will be fine for some.

The planning staff and the owner are extremely friendly and helpful in fact everyone employed at every level is a credit to this hotel.
You all contributed to a fabulous party and overnight stay.

My husband and I recently got married at the Westmead, it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. So for my mother in laws 80th birthday we booked a surprise meal and overnight stay and once again everything was fantastic from start to finish. The staff here are wonderful, nothing is to much trouble and they always go the Extra mile. A huge thank you to Simon, Scott, James and Janine you all do a fantastic job. What a brilliant team!!!!

It was the Christmas disco. Super entertainment for the children, lovely to see Santa, but his elf was really miserable.
Kids loved it.
Now the meal. We had carvery. It was very nice, but sadly very cold. And to heat up loads of plates would have taken ages.
So sad to say, not sure whether we would go next year.
You definitely need to sort out the heating of the veggies and the room, it was freezing. Cost of living maybe 🤔

Xmas party night two many tables very cramped around our table. Music to loud while eating couldn't have a talk to our party of 14. Food was very poor and cold. Service was very substandard. Only two staff on the bar with over a hundred people. Shame we had a great night last year which is why we went back. Never again considering the night cost over a thousand pounds.
